If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

13-12-21 Rudolphia is a scared girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is very worried and overwhelmed to find herself here and will hide in the back of her kennel at the moment. She lets us handle her easily and seems to have a very gentle nature. She will need another kind resident dog in her new home to be her friend and to help her adjust to home life and learn all about things like house training, how to walk on a lead and all about home life. With time and love she will start to blossom and realise that the world isn't quite so scary after all.

23-12-22 UPDATE
Rudolphia is settling in well to her foster home, we call her 'Roo', and she already knows its her name. Roo is learning the routine of home-living really well, following her beagle friends for guidance. Roo knows to go outside to do her business, but doesn't yet alert us to be let out. We have a dog flap in the door which she hasn't tried, despite seeing the others use it, so for now, we take her out regularly and you can tell if she is pacing/circling, then we take her straight out and reward when she does. A few accidents, but more our fault than hers.
She has been with us for 6 days and has only used our enclosure until today when we let her out into the garden on a long lead and a harness. After getting used to having these on she grew in confidence quite quickly, staking out all the new smells and surfaces. She saw us rewarding our dog with a treat when she came to us when we called her, and she was able to do the same when we called her. She followed us around the grounds, happily trotting along.
SO far her only experience of travelling in the car was the journey from pick up to home, she fretted to begin with but then she slept for the 2 hour journey with no issues.
She is fine to be left for up to 3 hours at a time, which I have done twice in the first week.
She settles down with us all for the evening, curled up with the other beagles and even lets us stroke her when she is relaxed.
Roo is amazing, having never experienced home life before. She learns quickly and I'm sure will become an ideal pet for a family with another dog who will guide her and let her sleep on them.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
