20-04-22 Flower is a shy girl who has come from her breeder to find her loving home. She does have some dry eye at the moment so needs eye drops to ensure that she is comfortable. Flower is very worried about the world at the moment and will run away from us, hiding to the back of her kennel. She doesnt yet understand that we are here to be her friends as she has never needed to trust humans before. She doesnt yet know how to walk on a lead and will need to learn all about this and other home skills such as house training. The only thing Flower is sure on is her love of other dogs. She will need at least one kind resident dog to guide her in her new home and boost her confidence. She needs a home without children as she would find them overwhelming at the moment and she needs a lot of TLC to help her begin to trust. With time and dedication she will start to shine

23-05-22 UPDATE

Flower remains available for adoption after a little over a month of being in kennels. I am extremely fond of this sweet lady, myself and one other staff member have had the honour of treating her eye for dry eye recently which happens around four times a day and has given Flower a lot of basic handling, she is still very nervous and she still requires a lot of gentle handling, but my word has she flourished recently because of this constant handling for the eye meds.
Today, we worked a harness onto Flower to determine what stage she was at and she was very unsure, understandably so. What she really needs is patient and understanding new owners who will teach her how to walk and how to be a regular dog very slowly in the security and comfort of her own garden, only venturing out for a proper walk when she is confident enough to do so and also double leaded. Flower's Right eye, which was suffering from dry eye, has improved dramatically over the last few weeks, going from a tear production reading of absolute 0 all the way to a regular reading of 20, we are absolutely thrilled with this however it is early days and continuation of her current medication with a re-test in a couple of weeks is advised. Despite being scared, she is excellent to give her eye meds to, she sits in the corner of her kennel and let's you apply them like a good girl.
Because Flower is such a nervous girl, she relies on other dogs heavily and she certainly needs at least one canine companion in her new home, she is particularly fond of similar sized dogs. She very much likes her kennel mates, however they are all nervous also which is slightly hindering her progression. Flower is the cheekiest of her kennel and she is comfortable enough recently to really begin to show her true self, she's certainly finding her voice! All Flower needs is love, patience and most importantly a secure home to prosper in, she may not have had the best of starts but she is still relatively young and has a whole life to live and indeed learn, if you think you could be the right home for this little, cheeky lady, please consider filling in an application form for her.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
