If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

02-05-2022 Thorn is a beautiful but very worried girl who has come to us from a breeder.  She has seen nothing of the outside world before and and is very unsure about humans and feels a little threatened by everything that is going on around her.  Thorn will need a very experienced, adult only home where there is at least one other dog to help her confidence with people but she cannot be homed with cats.  She will need to learn about house training and this may take her a little time as for her the garden may be be as scary as the inside of a home at first.  She has no idea about walking on a lead and again this will take her a while to get the hang of and needs to be started in the garden.  Thorn will need to be double leaded at first which we will be happy to advise about if you are the person adopting her. She will need owners who really understand her fears and have the time, love and patience to help her overcome them.

13-05-22 UPDATE

Thorn has come a long way from how she was when she arrived her. She was very anxious and was extremely anxious around us. She is now confident enough to come up to my hand and have a little sniff. She loves to play with her kennel mates and is great with other dogs. Thorn does not walk on a lead yet as she isn't quite ready to progress to this just yet. She will need an adult only home as she is still very wary. She will still need to be homed with another dog to show her the ropes of the house and to give her confident boosts.

05-07-22 UPDATE
I would like to introduce everyone to these two comedic ladies, Thorn the cocker and Hannah the beagle.
Although they have only met since coming in to rescue, they have become fast friends who absolutely adore one another, they love to play, walk and snuggle together. So we would be happy to rehome them together, whether there is a resident dog in the home or not.
Hannah is the more confident of the two and often goes out with volunteers who always come back saying how amazing she is and I strongly agree, Thorn is walking nicely too but only goes for walks with volunteers when Hannah can go too.
They are just such wonderful girls who I have had the privilege of watching their friendship grow, so I would love to see them stay together when they go to start their new life, but as I say, this isn't essential.
They can be homed separately, Thorn would need a resident dog if that were the case and Hannah would prefer one but could be an only in the right circumstances.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
