If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

08-06-22 Sandy is a poodle who has come to us from her breeder to find a loving home. She is a sweet but very shy little lady who will be seeing our vet as she sounds a little chesty. Sandy is a little worried as she is a typical poodle who is sensitive, clever and cautious. You will need to earn her trust and will need to have at least one kind resident dog to show her all about home life as she isnt used to living indoors. Sandy will need to learn all about house training, how to walk on a lead and other home skills. Sandy is going to need a calm home where any children are at least teens as she prefers a calm, quiet pace of life. Sandy needs some time to settle and someone who understands her need for some TLC to boost her confidence and help her find her feet.

19-06-22 UPDATE

Sandy has had a huge personality change while staying at Many Tears. She's excitable, gentle, and absolutely loves a fuss. She has quickly become one of my favorites. She can be a little apprehensive at times, and be shy around certain people, but she's really blossomed here.
Some important things to note are

  • she must be homed with another dog
  • she does not like to be on her own and has developed some separation anxiety with her kennel staff
  • she is also a climber, so it is very important that her adopters garden have high walls with no gaps as she's a small and agile little lady

Other than this, she really is coming along brilliantly, especially at lead training. She's unsure at times, but getting more and more confident every day by putting trust into whoever is handling the lead. Sandy has so much potential, I hope to see her go to her forever home soon. She deserves it!

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
