CAFE COULD SHARE HER HOME WITH CASPER
EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME

06-07-22 Cafe is a beautiful Shih Tzu who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She is a very worried girl who is shy when she first meets you but she does warm up and easy to handle.  She has never lived in a home before nor has she seen anything of the world before so everything is new and daunting to her. She is scared of sounds and movements that are unfamiliar and seeks comfort in her kennel friends, hiding away from the scary big wide world. She will need at least one resident dog in her new home that is confident and able to support her and reassure her. She will be able to learn new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead by copying her new canine friends in a language she understands. She will be best suited to an adult home because although she accepts being handled she is still very worried and is in need of a calm and quiet home for now.
It is her birthday on August the 1st and we would love for someone to sing to her for the very first time and show her how a birthday should be.
This girl doesnt know how lovely her life can be but with lots of time, patience and the right support she will start to shine. She has a passport

28-07-22 UPDATE

Cafe has settled really well into her foster home and is getting a little braver each day. She travelled well in the car on her journey to Essex and has been a delight to foster. Cafe has been clean in the house so far and sleeps silently overnight. She loves to run around the garden and play chase with her buddy, so ideally would like an active, younger playmate about her size. She gets on well with other dogs and is curious and gentle.
Cafe will now take treats from my hand and lets me stroke her. Last night, after just three days with me and after observing my dogs behaviour, she jumped onto the sofa and lay down beside me. She is not ready for lead walking and exploring the outside world but I’m sure she’ll love her walks when the time comes. Cafe so deserves to be loved and treasured by her own special family.

13-08-22 UPDATE

Cafe is a delight to foster. She is a fast learner and has adapted to home life really well. She is now eager to jump onto the sofa for a fuss and is enjoying her country walks. She is happy to have her harness put on and now her tail is up and she trots alongside me, gaining in confidence daily.
Cafe is house trained and uses puppy pads at night. She watches wherever I go and is going to make a lovely, loyal companion for some lucky person. Cafe is in foster with her kennel mate, Casper whom she loves and in the right circumstances, the two could go together to someone who doesn’t already have a dog, or even better to someone who already has resident dog or two!

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
