06-07-22 Bambi is a sweet beagle who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She is a beautiful girl but she is a little worried about her new surroundings. She takes her courage from her friends around her and will need at least one resident dog in her new home to show her the ropes and help her to settle. She will need to learn all about house training, how to walk on a lead and other such home skills such as where the treat tin is! As she increases in confidence she will discover her own beagley personality and will likely become a playful girl who loves long, sniffy walks and having fun. She will be able to live with older chidren who are experienced and respectful with dogs and understand her need for time to settle and adjust to home life. She will need kindness, patience and heaps of love. She has a passport

02-08-22 UPDATE

Lovely Bambi has come out of her shell a lot since arriving, but she is still worried by us humans and the busy-ness. She has taken to walking on a harness quite well but still needs some more confidence with this. She absolutely LOVES playing with her kennel mates, especially the fellow beagles!! She is fine with her size and larger dogs, and she loved the German shepherd she was kenelled with. One thing to note is when she becomes stressed she can have a pop at the other dogs, but once she has calmed and realised she's safe she is off playing happy as anything again, it's just when she gets overwhelmed. She is still quite wary to come close to us humans, and flinches with handling, but this will come better with plenty of love and trust. Bambi is quite a small beagle and will need someone with lots of patience and love to offer, and a resident dog who will play the days away with her.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
