If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

07-07-22 Perry is a lovely little chap who has come from a breeder to find a loving home. He has a docked tail and we are told he is used to seeing chicken and is good with them. This boy has a super little personality but does need an adult only home as he can get very excited when he sees you and can nip in excitement, we are working on this with him but for this reason he will need an experienced, adult only home. He can already walk on a lead and could be house trained but we can't guanatee that. Perry would prefer to be an only dog and we think he will love being someones special boy.

18-08-2022 UPDATE
Perry has sadly been returned after a short adoption.  Perry needs a terrier experienced and active home who understand he can get easily over-excited and nips feet and ankles when he gets into this state.  Perry has a big character and needs training in a firm but fun terrier home where he get plenty of exercise as he is a very busy chap.  In the right home Perry will be a great friend and companion but he does need some work to help him become the great terrier boy we know he can be.

13-09-22 UPDATE

I worked with Perry his first time being here and we did begin to make good progress. He can be mistrusting of people and wary of strangers, especially men, so I can only imagine what he has been through. He’s definitely not a bad dog, just incredibly misunderstood.
Perry originally was a pet and for whatever reason ended up with a breeder before arriving to the rescue the first time. So he has got the advantages of being a pet such as house training, basic commands and confidence. Perry is just so intelligent and unless he has a busy day, he is completely wasted. This isn’t hard to achieve in a home, he just wants to be outside, on fun walks and be able to have some freedom. If you’re very active, he would be perfect for you.
In the past, if Perry has had nothing to do all day or not had enough energy burned, he has been known to nip at feet and ankles when people are coming in and out of doors. I believe this is just a massive build up of energy and excitement that he just doesn’t know what to do with. But if he has gotten all of his needs met, he is absolutely perfect. I have never once had a problem with him in the kennels, before or after his return, we get him out on several walks through the day and he is an angel.
Perry does not enjoy the company of other dogs. He very much likes his own space and for his person to be his person only. So he would love to be homed as an only dog and be the centre of your world. He is so loving and affectionate, he would be the bestest of friends. He is so good at listening to you, he loves his squeezy cheese and will sit and wait for whatever you need him to.
He is definitely a work progress but he will be worth every bit of it. We are looking to home Perry in an adult only home. I really hope Perry isn’t waiting too much longer in kennels, he is desperate to begin the rest of his life and bring so much fun to a lucky family’s life.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
