29-07-2022 River is a super confident girl who has come to us from a breeder but we believe she has been a pet and lived in a home at some time in her life.  She walks on a lead but is strong so needs further training with this and he may need to learn about house training but it won't take her long to pick this up if she does.  River sits on command and loves humans and having a fuss but would be best as an only dog as although she shares her kennel other dogs she can be food aggressive wtih them when she's eating so is fed separately. For this reason she would need an adult only home. In an experienced dog savvy home River will thrive and be a joy to have in your life to accompany your on long country walks.

07-08-22 UPDATE
River loves long walks, dinner times, and any kind of fuss she can get. She spends the day lying in bed watching the world pass by from her kennel, but as soon as she sees you getting a lead ready she gets so so so excited and is full steam ahead for the first 10/15 minutes of her walk! She can be strong and pull but she does listen when you remind her about manners. She's a quick learner for sure!
River loves loves loves to play ball. She'll run and fetch the ball all day long if she could, but she hasn't quite mastered dropping it yet. I can see her being such a perfect, loyal companion. She is also completely toilet clean in her kennel!
River gets on fine with other dogs, but can be an only dog too. She needs an active home who can satisfy her exercise needs mentally as well as physically. River cannot live with cats or ANY small furries as she does actively hunt when she knows there are cats/mice about. I hope River won't be waiting in kennels for long!

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
