04-09-22 Octavia is a lovely girl who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She has not seen anything of the big wide world so is feeling rather shy and unsure at the moment. She is not comfortable being handled and will flinch when you pick her up. She needs lots of gentle encouragement to help her settle and begin to enjoy a gentle fuss. Octavia is much happier in the company of her kennel friends and will need at least one kind resident dog in her new home to help her settle and lend her some much needed confidence. She needs to learn all about house training and how to walk on a lead and will need a calm home without young children as she would find them a bit too much to cope with. Octavia needs time and patience and in time she will shine.

26-09-22 UPDATE

When Octavia first came to the rescue she was a very scared girl, she has been here a few weeks now and we are slowly seeing some progress. She has started to come closer to people and today she even came to sniff my hand she does still lack the confidence to have a smooth but this will take time. She loves having time out in the yard with her friends and shares her kennel well with them.
Octavia is happiest when around other dogs so she will need a resident dog to help her settle into home life and for her to learn from, a calm environment will also be needed. She is a lovely girl who is only going to grow more in confidence each day.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
