20-10-2022 Bisto is the sweetest older lady who has come to us from a breeder.  She would like and calm, quiet and gentle adult only home where there is at least one other dog to help her adjust to life in a home.  Bisto has never lived in a home before so will need to learn about house training.  She will watch her new firend(s) and start to copy what they do which will help her learn this skill much more easily.  Bisto will need to learn about lead walking and with love, patience and kind words of encouragement she will start to learn how lovely it is to stroll along sniffing all the new smells. She is a darling and just waiting for her special person to find her and take her home.

30-11-2022 UPDATE

Bisto has been here at Hotel Chihuahua for nearly 6 weeks. In that time she has lost her fear of humans and discovered that it's nice to sit on a sofa for a fuss and cuddle. She has also been for a pampering session at the College of East Angliaasily to her Grooming School, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Lead, or harness, walking has come easily to her and she now gets exhited when the leads come out. Car journeys are no problem and she gets in and out without having to be lifted, which she learned from the residents here. Bisto was clean in the house within 2 weeks of being here, she eats very well and takes treats from my hand very gentley. She will be happy to be an only dog but will, as she is used to being in a family situation, will happily join an established situation. Althoug she is 10 years old she is a happy, bouncy and friendly girl showing all the usual Shih Tsu charectoristics. Recently she has mastered stairs and sleeps with the rest of the gang in my bedroom. Whilst I will be sorry to let her go she deserves to find a happy forever home.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
