04-11-22 Harley has come to us from her breeder to find a loving home. Harley has never lived inside before and is feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. She will hide away from us at the moment, scrambling to hide behind her bed as she isnt sure what we want from her, shaking and trembling in our arms when we hold her. When she thinks we arent looking, she is waggy and cuddly around her kennel friends so we can see a glimpse of her true personality and she if given enough time and patience she will begin to show this more and more. Harley will need at least one resident dog in her new home to show her all about home life and let her copy new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead. She has no idea how wonderful her life can be but with patience, time and love in a calm home environment, without young children that she could be overwhelmed by she will relax and start enjoying her new life.
10-01-23 UPDATE
Harley has been with me for a few weeks now but is still not ready to experience human touch. She is quite happy to make her way into the lounge and cuddle with another dog, in fact she spends all day in the lounge except when she escorts you to the kitchen on the lookout for treats. Harley is housetrained and will need a very patient home to enable her come round when she is ready. She is no problem with cats
26-02-23 UPDATE
Harley will now let me pick her up for a fuss, taken some time but patience pays off in the end. She has also come for her first walk today only 20 minutes but we will go out 2/3 times a day and gradually increase the walk. She spends all her time in the lounge, is housetrained and a beauty, no problem with my cat or hamster.
11-04-23 UPDATE
Harley arrived on foster in December a very nervous girl. She now loves her walks and had good recall, greets every dog she meets. Loves to cuddle up with one of the other dogs cats are no problem. She is no lapdog and still has a little way to go but she has transformed especially after being groomed.
23-05-23 UPDATE
Harley is gaining more confidence as times goes on, she will let me bath her but doesn’t like the hair dryer so before taking her to my groomer I bath her the day before. She needs her own family now to love her. Adopters will need to understand that she may be nervous until she gets used to them but she is an absolute joy.
08-06-23 UPDATE
Harley ran to the door with my dogs to greet me today. I can't tell you how much that meant to me! She really is gaining confidence all the time and is just patiently waiting for someone to give her the chance she deserves.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
