25-11-22 Quiz is a sweet shihtzu who has come from his breeder to find a loving home. He has quite the quirky personality and is very talkative and will give his opinion on all subjects! He is finding his new surroundings a bit overwhelming and he can be unsure in new situations  so he will need a home who will give him time to settle and reassure him there nothing to worry about. He will need an adult only home and someone with plenty of patience and time to help him learn about house training which shouldn't time him too long to learn as he already knows how to walk on a lead. Quiz gets on well with other dogs and can live with others or be an only dog in his new home. He has a passport.

16-12-22 UPDATE
Quiz has come into foster with me and is an absolute super star who loves everyone! This super cool little man walks fab on a lead and in the right home can be an only, but if homed as an only he MUST sleep on the human bed.  He has shown signs of separation anxiety which we will be working on with him.
Quiz is good with cats, travels fantastic in the car, good with small and bigger dogs and both male and female. He is also fab to have a bath and loves nothing more than to lay on the sofa and be groomed for ever!  Quiz loves his humans, he will put his 2 little front feet on the edge of the sofa and will ask to be picked up onto your lap. Quiz follows you everywhere, he will trot wherever you go weather it's to the toilet or outside he's right by your side! House training is a work in progress as he does tend to pee but if your quick and you see the signs he will go outside.
If anyone is looking for an absolute cracking dog then look no further!

23-12-22 UPDATE

Quiz is still with me and what a pleasure it is to have this little man around. Quiz is a dog who has a massive personality and knows how to wrap his humans around his paw. Since having Quiz he has shown a little bit of separation anxiety where he will bark if not in the same room as me or if the door has been closed on him while he is out in the garden, he also barks if you fuss him and then stop and won't stop until you continue, we are working on this. When he does demand for my attention I say 'no'firmly and I stand up and walk out the room, but this is him not being nasty, it's simply his way of communicating!
Quiz does sleep in my bed and when he's sleeping he doesn't move until I wake up. In the mornings I do carry him downstairs as when he's down on the ground first thing he will toilet in the house, apart from this Quiz is completely house trained. He loves nothing more to go on walks and gets very excited and can pull a little on the lead but nothing too bad. When out on walks he has passed people, children and dogs absolutely fine, but if a stranger goes to touch him he will growl. He's never snapped at anyone while being in my care and to make sure he is homed to the right home we are looking for someone experienced who can work through this with him.
He loves playing with toys, chewing bones and we are learning to 'sit'. Quiz is looking for a home where there are no visiting children and someone who is around most of the day, he is bomb proof with dogs of all sizes, males and female dogs.

07-01-22 UPDATE

The worlds best shih tzu is still with me!  Quiz (who we call Bundy) has come on in leaps and bounds since being in our care.  We are working on his separation anxiety and he's doing well and can be left for about 40 mins now. Bundy goes everywhere with me so is being well socialised with people, dogs, cats, sheep, ducks and we are slowly working up to walking him around children on his lead.  Why he's is still looking for a home is beyond me, he has so much love to give and he loves a snuggle.  He can be an only dog and absolutely loves going on adventures although we have discovered he is not keen on the beach! If your looking for a friend to go on adventures and looking for a soul mate then look no further.

29-01-23 UPDATE

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here looking for a home.  My foster mum often looks at me and wonders why I'm still here. I have all the humans I live with wrapped around my paw and boy don't I know how to do this! It all started when my foster mummy left me in the kitchen while she took the 'more active dogs' out for a bike ride and insisted I could not go, but she regretted this as soon as she left as I barked my head off until she came back.  She says I have separation anxiety which isn't true, I just don't like it when she goes without me or when I can't see her!
My foster mum often says how beautiful and wonderful I am which is very obvious to me. She also tells me how I'm never to be trusted off the lead, and she that I have to go to secure fields to go off the lead as I follow my nose and don't come back! But I like to run so fast, and especially when I see people or dogs as I just love them so much!
I'm loving life here, mummy tells me that if I'm here much longer then I may as well stay, but I hear her telling my foster daddy that she has enough dogs and that I deserve the world and more and she's not in a position to adopt a dog like me as I have to go EVERYWHERE with her. When she says everywhere I mean everywhere. I even get carried into Tesco and the local shops and chill in her arms and LOVE all the people that stick there hands out to touch me.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
