If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

21-12-2022 Summery is a scared little boy who has come to us from a breeder.  He will need a calm and quiet adult only home where there is at least one kind resident dog to be his friend and guide him about how to live in a home with humans who will love him.  He has never even seen the inside of a home before and so this will be overwhelming at first and he will need to learn new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. These are things that may take him a little time to get the hang of as the garden may be as scary for him and the inside of the home at first. Summery needs adopters who understand and have the time, love and patience to help him discover the joys that his new life will bring.  Lead walking will need to start in the garden to make sure he is comfortable wearing a harness and lead before venturing out in the world.  Summery can be a little over friendly with the other dogs in his kennel but this should settle down once he is neutered and his hormones settle. He sometimes gets a bit bossy with the other dogs if he thinks they are getting a fuss and he wants the attention. He needs that extra special person who can see the potential he has to become a wonderful friend.

29-01-23 UPDATE
Summery, known as Sunny here has made massive improvements in the week he has been here- he can now go outside to pee and poo, and has no issues coming back in when he’s called, he has not had an accident in the house since he started going outside successfully. He’s eating and drinking well. He has also had a pretty good all over groom so he’s looking very smart and presentable, though his claws need clipping and he’s not quite at a place where we could easily achieve this.
His favourite thing to do is cuddle on the couch, or just be your shadow. He absolutely hates being left and will kick up a big fuss if you happen to get out of his sight for a moment. He is not bothered by other dogs at all and has little to no interest in interacting with them. That being said, he is possessive and does resource guard quite fiercely, with no warning being given if he snaps at another dog in his space. He has seen horses from the safe viewpoint of my arms and was duly horrified, I don’t think this is something he will get over quickly.
I believe Sunny would be perfectly happy as an only dog, he just wants to be with his person and to never be left! Anyone looking to adopt Sunny would need to be conscious of the fact that it will take a lot of time and patience before he will manage things like walking in public spaces and going to the groomer’s, but he is more than ready to find his person and be loved, all he wants to do is be with you.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
