If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

22-12-2022 Miss Greenie is a beautiful but very scared girl who has come to us from a breeder.  She hides at the back of her kennels as she has not seen anything of the big wide world before and is very nervous around people. Miss Greenie is very worried about being handled and will need an adult only home as children would overwhelm her. She loves other dogs and will need at least one kind resident dog who will be happy to be her friend and show her all about home life. Miss Greenie will need to learn about house training, walking on a lead and needs time to get used to the sights and sounds of home.  These are things which may take her a while to pick up as the garden may be a scary as the house at first so her adopters need to have plenty of patience and love to help her learn and be sure she is comfortable walking on a harness and lead in the garden before taking her for a walk in the outside world.  In a quiet, calm home who have the time and patience to help Miss Greenie learn she is loved she will begin to shine.

13-02-23 UPDATE

Almost two months on, Miss Green remains a very scared little girl, but is coming on slowly. She needs a loving calm environment to get her to her full potential. She relies very heavily on her kennel mates, so this means she will need to be rehomed with another dog to bring her out of her shell. It will take some time for Miss Greenie to becomr a happy confident dog, but will be worth it in the end.

19-03-23 UPDATE
I’ve been working with this girl for quite a while now and I absolutely adore her. She is still a very scared and shy girl, but I’ve noticed quite a big difference in her in the past few weeks. She’s become a lot more inquisitive and she’s approaching me so much more than she used to. I think she’s been watching her friends coming up to me and taking treats off me, so she’s decided she may give it a go too. I know this doesn’t sound like a lot .. it’s just a dog sheepishly giving me sniff and taking a treat reluctantly from my hand .. but for a dog like Miss Greenie, it’s massive.
Being picked up and handled is still Miss Greenie’s biggest fear, but I am working with her on it and she’s slightly better than she was. It’s going to take a long time until she’s comfortable with human touch I think, but I won’t give up on her and she needs owners with the same mindset. They’re going to need to be extremely patient and understanding with her and have no expectations. With dogs as scared as Miss Greenie, it takes as long as it takes and you can’t rush it.
On a more positive note, she is very food orientated and she also LOVES toys. I give her whole kennel a load of different types of toys every day and she’s always either carrying one around in her mouth or chewing one in a bed. It’s nice to see that she gets comfort out of something while she’s stuck here in kennels.
If anyone is interested in adopting Miss Greenie, it will probably be a bumpy road and there will be no quick fixes or overnight miracles .. BUT the rewards you’ll get out of all of the hard work will make it so worth it. I promise.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
