If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

10-01-23 Dior has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a gorgeous and calm little lady. She is a little overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and needs some time to adjust and settle in. Dior will need another kind and confident dog in her new home to be her friend and help her to settle in and adjust to home life. She has never lived in a home before so will need to learn all about new skills like housetraining and how to walk on a lead. With time and love we think she is going to blossom into the sweetest companion. Dior has a grade 2 heart murmur which is not causing her any issues at the moment but is something that will need to be monitored by her new vet. If she needs treatment for her heart in the future this will not be covered on insurance so please take this potential cost into account before applying.

25-01-2023 UPDATE

We have called her Gemma, as she is a total Gem. She has been with us for just over a week now and she's so gentle, even though it is very clear that she is a scared little girl.  She will need a lot of time spent reassuring her, as most things are very frightening. She is good with all sizes of dogs, but it is clear, that she would prefer to be in a home with a dog of a similar size, ideally another golden retriever.
Because of her fear of everyday things, she will need a quiet, calm home with people who have a lot of time to spend with her.  We are looking for a child free home as the quick movements and sounds would be too much for her.
She walks well on a lead and is now starting to enjoy going out for a walk, although car journeys are causing her a lot of anxiety and she starts to drool heavily and then is sick.  She hasn't yet realised that every journey results in something good.  In time I feel this will ease and I don't think she is actually 'travel sick', it’s all nerves and fear.
Gemma isn't a 'readymade' pet dog, but with a lot of time and love she be a wonderful family member.  She deserves a home where she will be adored.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
