If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

19-01-2023 Toby is a lovely older gentleman who was adopted from us as a puppy.  He has very sadly found his way back to us after his owner became unwell and their was no one to look after him.  Although his little heart is broken, he is the MOST affectionate and well mannered boy and we are really hoping there is the special person out there who can offer this very special boy the perfect home to heal his broken heart and make his days happy and bright once more.
Toby is looking for a very loving, calm, gentle and quiet home where his can spend the rest of his days surrounded by love and home comforts.  He seems to be very hard of hearing, has cataracts which limit his vision and some warts but this is to be expected due to his golden age. We believe he may have some heart problems and also testicular cancer and our vet will take a look at this.   He could either be homed as an only dog or with very kind and gentle other dog that will be his friend.  Please don't leave him waiting too long - Toby needs to be back in a home as soon as possible.

24-01-2923 UPDATE
Toby has been in a foster home as an only dog since 20/01/23, with a retired couple who are there for him pretty much all the time. He is an old gentleman, who loves to snooze more than anything else.
He doesn't really like to cuddle on a lap or with people, he likes to know where his humans are, and then will often leave the room and snooze alone by his own choice.
He is a very quiet dog until he smells food, then he will find his voice and bark out of excitement as although he is deaf and has very limited eyesight, there is nothing wrong with his sense of smell!
He is wobbly on his back legs, more so when he wakes up, so he needs someone on hand to be able to support him when he gets up. He also would struggle with any steps or stairs, so he would need to be carried if he is to go up any stairs in the home
. He is currently the only dog in the home and he is absolutely fine with this, it was he has been used to all of his life, and he is drawn much more to ladies than men as his previous owner of 14 years was female.
He ideally needs owners who are fit and able to bend and lift him when need-be, he needs a calm and relaxed home where his owners are there for him as and when he needs and don't have a busy household with lots of visitors, no energetic dogs that would try to incite play with him and someone to devote their time to him in his golden years. He is older and it is likely that with age, he will need regular vet trips so his new owners will also need to be in a good financial position to cater for these needs as and when they arise. There is not a nasty bone in his body, he will let you pick him up, groom his coat, rub his belly... he needs a special, big-hearted person to call his own once more.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
