If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

29-01-2023 Vernon has come to us from a breeder.  He has spent 10 long years being a stud dog and is now looking for a very special person to offer him a home.  Vernon has typical terrier characteristics and can be a little grumpy with other dogs, however he is happily kenneled with other dogs here and could live with other laid back dogs. Vernon could also easily be homed as an only dog.  Vernon need a really special adopter who is experienced with terriers and understand that he has never lived in a home so is going to need plenty of time and patience to help him adjust.  He will need to learn about house training and lead walking which may take him a little time to get the hang of.  He needs a quiet and calm adult only home as fast movements unnerve him.  He has a Grade 2-3 murmur but does not need medication for this but his adopters will need to monitor this with their vet and be aware this will not be covered by insurance should he medication in the future.

22-02-23 UPDATE

The awesome Vernon is the most regal older gentlemen. He has waited so long to be someone’s best friend inside a home, and if you have good experience with terriers and understand the classic characteristics that come with a terrier like Vernon then he is perfect for you! He can be grumpy, but if you approach slowly and give him attention he very quickly realises he loves it. He’s not had a lot of human interaction, so it does take time but this stunning lad deserves the world so if you are the right person please give him a retirement home!

27-03-23 UPDATE

Dear Vernon is a delightful dog. He is the sweetest old man. He has shown no grumpiness here and has coped very well with a large pack of bigger dogs, cats and even horses and goats.

This chap sticks to your ankles and potters around. He likes to be close to you.I am sure Vernon has been a much loved pet at some point in his life.

He would make a lovely addition to a home. He sleeps through the night, he is very clean in the house, no barking and lovely on the lead too.

Vernon is an older chap and all he wants is a person to love. He would make a super companion to an older person.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
