07-02-2023 Padma is young but frightened and shyt down girl who has come to us from a breeder. At first she is worried about being handled but with kindness and patience she starts to settle. Padma will need a calm and quiet adult only home with at least one kind resident dog to help her to settle into her new life and allow her to cuddle up to them if she wants to. Padma has never lived in a home before and so this will be quite scary at first as she learns about home life and new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. These are things which may take her a while to pick up as the garden may be a scary as the house at first so her adopters need to have plenty of patience and love to help her learn and be sure she is comfortable walking on a harness and lead in the garden before taking her for a walk in the outside world. Padma has deformed front paw pads, they don't cause her any pain or issues but they will need regular cleaning. Padma has a passport.

Padma has been with me for just over a month now and her confidence is improving more and more each day. She’s a very happy girl in general now and her tail literally never stops wagging, especially when there’s food involved!! I’ve noticed a big change in her particularly in the last week or so as she’s decided she’s now brave enough to approach me to give me lots of sniffs, a few little kisses, and also to take treats out of my hand which is a really big deal. She will still run away from me if I approach her, but she’s definitely not as scared of me as she was to begin with, so that’s okay with me. I know she will get there in time, it’s just going to take a lot of kindness and patience. Padma will still need a home with at least 1 kind and confident resident dog as she definitely thrives when her kennel friends are around. I think she gets a lot of her confidence from them, and I’ve noticed she comes forward even more when she’s around dogs that are friendlier with humans. She watches them having fusses and getting excited to see us, and I really do think she’s picked up on that which has led to the spike in her confidence. She is an extremely sweet girl who is so young .. she really does have her whole life ahead of her. I just hope she doesn’t have to wait long for that life to start. So please consider welcoming her into your heart and your home!
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
