15-03-2023 Ellie is a very gentle scared girl who is very overwhelmed to find herself here, despite she has a very sweet nature and lets us handle her easily. She adores her kennel friends and is looking for a home where there is at least one other kind and confident dog to snuggle up to and gain confidence from. Ellie has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in to home life and picks up new skills like house training. She will need to learn all about wearing a lead and harness, first around the home and garden before venturing into the real World.Ellie will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with someone who has lots of time, love and care she will begin to settle and flourish into her new life.
30-03-23 UPDATE
Ellie was found to have a Grade 3 heart murmur when she was spayed. She is not on medication for this but MAY need to be at some time in the future. Her adopters will need to monitor this with their vet and be in the position to be able to cover the cost of medication should Ellie need it as it will not be covered by insurance.

I cannot be prouder of this daring girl . Exactly one week ago I fostered Ellie and thought I would not see any improvement for at least a month, due to her level of fear. I brought home the most terrified little girl , who instantly found the furthest corner of the garden and stayed there until I carried her indoors. Since then this beautiful soul thrives on TLC. She loves soft words and gentle cuddles and amazingly comes to her name now and will takes treats from my hand . Of course she is still cautious of our intentions, but she isn’t the same dog. The fear has left her eyes and you see the real beauty she is.
Eliie lives happily with my six dogs and already eats her meals with them and is very respectful. She had one accident when she arrived, but I think that was more fear than anything else. She now knows what the garden is for and has been totally clean in the house.
Ellie sleeps through the night on our bed and gets up when we do. She travels well in the car and is already walking beautifully on the lead. She can be left for a couple of hours if she has the company of other dog/dogs.
Ellie has obviously had a traumatic past, but she is very forgiving of us humans. She is an example of why fostering is so important. She obviously didn’t flourish in the kennel environment and has exceeded my expectations since being in a home. Ellie would benefit from a calm quiet home with another dog/dogs to continue her new exciting life.

Sweet darling Ellie has been with us nearly 3 weeks and has settled so well into home life. She loves routine and is simply a lovely easy house guest and is a very smart girl . She already knows two important words ….breakfast and dinner. When it’s time to settle down for the night she will join us on the sofa and at bedtime she will visit the garden to do what she needs to do and then you will find she is on our bed ready for a good night sleep. She walks perfectly on the lead but also loves to run and play on the beach. We started with a long training lead and soon realised we had gained her love/trust and her recall is amazing. One thing I can say for sure ….Ellie does not have a nasty bone in her body and loves other dogs and her humans. I recently took her to my neighbour’s house for a cat test . I was sooo proud of her , not only did she pass the cat test she was confident to have a fuss made of her in a house she wasn’t familiar with . I cannot stress how special this girl is and how much she really deserves her happy ever after.

Ellie continues to appreciate her exciting new life and she is the complete dream girl. She absolutely loves interacting with her fur friends. However, she can get a little over enthusiastic and can be quite clumsy. Therefore, she wouldn’t suit elderly dogs who can’t move as fast as her or dogs who don’t enjoy rough and tumble.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
