17-03-2023 Winky is one of the 31 unsold puppies that have come into us this week. Winky is quite a frightend boy that is very overwhelmed with his situation. He will need a quiet calm adult only home with special adopters that can give lots of time, understanding and TLC. With love and patience in his new home Winky will soon start to realise there's nothing to worry about and his adopters will see him gaining confidence and comfort from humans. Winky will need a home with a resident dog who is older than him but young enough to teach him how to run and play and who he can cuddle up to for comfort and security. Winky will need to learn about house training and how to walk on a lead walk and needs adopters who understand what he needs is love and kindness before they start training. Potential adopters need to be aware that due to his coat Winky will need regular trips to a groomer.
You will be asked to sign a contract confirming you will spay/neuter a puppy and we ask that a puppy attends puppy classes so they can socialise with other dogs and people.
24-03-23 UPDATE
Winky is still very nervous and scared of humans. Once Winky is picked up he calms down a bit but is still unsure.
Winky will need another dog in his home to help him come out of his shell, and also to show him what living in a home is like. He still needs a lot of TLC and encouragement to boost his confidence.
He will need a calm and quiet Adult only home, who can give him the love and time that he needs.
30-03-23 UPDATE
What a difference a few days in a home has made to this adorable puppy. He is so much more confident. Winky is getting a lot braver each day although is still shy and a little frightened at times so this will take time and patience. He goes crazy when he sees us in the morning. Tails wagging and so excited. He will come to take treats, allow us to gentle stroke him under his chin and also pick him up. He relaxes more now in your arms and has actually fallen asleep. He has put on weight and eats well. He uses the puppy pads and are clean in the crate over night. In fact he is a complete joy and will make one family very happy.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
