20-03-23 Thanu is a sweet girl who has come to us from her breeder to find a loving home. She is a very quiet girl who is scared and unsure at the moment. She doesnt enjoy being picked up but isnt snappy or kind, she just wishes we would leave her in peace or will scamper away to the back of her kennel to hide. Thanu needs to relax and begin to trust and will make best progress with the company of another dog in her new home. She will need to learn all about house training, how to walk on a lead and other such home skills. She is looking for a quiet home where she can get all the love and encouragement she deserves and in time she will settle and begin to shine. Thanu has a PETS passport document.
21-04-23 UPDATE
This little lady is a heartbreaker.
My beautiful Thanu, the sweetest lady who tries so desperately hard to be brave, but who hates to be picked up, she has been on my section for a few weeks and at first, every day I would go in to stroke her-would be so stressful, that I would have to use a blanket just to touch her, but, as days went on, we progressed to being able to use my hands to touch her, but would still need a blanket to pick her up. She wouldn't tolerate much of anything, but she has come SUCH a long way, she is so happy and waggy on the floor, she even comes up and gives me kisses very often now, she wags her tail whenever she sees me and wants to be with me, but I am going at her pace to help her feel happy with me handling her. She let's me put her harness on now and doesn't get too stressed by this. I shall start putting some tension on the lead soon, but everything has to be done in very small amounts so as not to make her go backwards. I can see her being the most loving girl, once she has gained the confidence and trust that she should have had the chance to have from day one, but it will take time. Baby steps are the way forward for this beautiful angel, and I am so grateful that I get to be the one to help her see that humans can be kind. I had tears in my eyes the first day she wagged her tail for me, it was such an incredible sight to see.
Thanu will need a calm, adult only home that will understand her needs and not expect anything to come quickly, they will also need to be experienced with scared ex breeders.
Once she is in the right situation for her, I'm sure she will thrive.
28-04-23 UPDATE
This beautiful lady has come on so much, she is coming up to me for little fusses very often now, she is easier to pick up as she doesn't get so stressed and she trusts me so much more. She will now just go to one bed and wait, whereas before she would run as much as she could. She still isn't okay with tension on the harness, but we keep doing a little bit to try and help her feel okay with it. She is a gem who has completely stolen my heart. I hope her people find her soon.
26-05-23 UPDATE
Thanu has been here for quite some time she first came to us in March! Since coming to the rescue she has come out of her shell quite a bit with people she knows, she will even go up for a fuss and gets so excited to see them! She still has a way to go which is why I hope she finds her forever home very soon. She needs someone who has the time to work with her daily and give her a routine so she will learn all about home life. She will need a resident dog to guide her in her new surroundings and show her the ropes. Thanu will need a calm and quiet adult only home where she won't feel overwhelmed. She is currently in harness training and is now fine with having it put on her but when on the lead she gets a bit panicky with the tension. The past few weeks have been building up to Thanu having a bath, Today was the day! At first she was nervous and tried to get out of the bath but she soon settled. Considering how she was a couple of months ago the change in her is just amazing!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
ADOPTION DETAILS
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt.
