18-04-23 Sweet Caroline has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is quite worried and nervous to find herself here at the moment and will need love and kindness to help her settle in to her new home. She will be looking for a calm and quiet home where there is at least one other kind resident dog to be her friend and to help her to settle in. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and picks up new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. She is a sweet girl and with time and love she should start to come out of her shell. She would benefit from adopters who are experienced with the breed or similar breeds. One of her ears has a thicker flap than usual, this doesn't cause her any issues but her adopters will need to ensure they clean her ears regularly. She will need a home without cats or small furries.

20-05-23 UPDATE

Lovely lady Sweet Caroline has come on in leaps and bounds since she first arrived. She now walks confidently on a lead and just wants to sniff every single thing she possibly can. She's still a little nervous of having the lead put on but once she gets going she's happy as anything! She loves her food, fusses, and long sniffy walks. She spends the day lounging around in bed and doesn't really care too much for toys. 'Sweet girl' as I call her, is 90% toilet clean in her kennel, copying her kennel friend who is completely clean. Even though she is confident she still needs a resident dog as she does copy them and follow their cues! I hope someone falls for Sweet Caroline just like we all have asap so she can be lounging around on her own sofa or in her own garden

03-06-23 UPDATE

Sweet Caroline still waits for her perfect retirement home. She wants nothing but a quiet life. She has been going for walks with volunteers as her confidence grows and she spends the rest of her day cozied up in bed. She is good with all shapes, sizes, gender dogs. She is still unsure about affection from humans but I think in a calm quiet environment this will come in no time. Sweets should absolutely not still be waiting! Sweet Caroline has failed her cat test and will pull to get to cats, so she needs a cat and small furry free home.

07-06-23 UPDATE
Sweet Caroline - I have been taking Sweet Caroline out for a weekly walk since she came into the rescue. She is the third huntaway I have taken out, and they have all been lovely natured dogs. She is perfection on a lead and walks along next to me. She takes treats gently and wags her tail at all dogs, horses, cows,  people and also enjoyed meeting some of the rescue neighbours. We saw two cats when we were out and, given a chance she would have chased them, but she allowed me to gently lead her away and carry on walking. She isn't cat friendly, but is easily distracted away from them. She also copes well with passing cars, showing no fear of them, though she will need slower introductions to busy traffic.
I was out with her for over two hours this week and we went to Llyn Llech Owain Park. She enjoyed being out and shows a playful side when we met other dogs. She has led a sheltered life so introductions will need to be gradual but she is growing in confidence.

If anyone is looking for a well behaved, loving, gentle dog, who is loose lead trained and walk ready, loves other dogs and will be a loyal, beautiful companion then please consider her. She is top of my volunteer walking list. I promised her an Utterly Mutterly doggie ice cream at the park this week, but the cafe was closed. Looking forward to taking her there next week instead, unless someone sees how stunning she is and adopts her before then.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
