11-05-2023 Nancy is a nervous girl with the sweetest temperament. She has come to us from a breeder and is finding her new surrounding a little overwhelming at the moment Nancy will need a calm and quiet adult only home with at least one kind resident dog to be her friend and help her to settle into her new life. She gets on well with other dogs and would like a dog who she can cuddle up to if she wants to. Nancy has never lived in a home before and so this will be quite scary at first as she learns about home life and new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. These are things which may take her a while to pick up as the garden may be a scary as the house at first so her adopters need to have plenty of patience and love to help her learn and be sure she is comfortable walking on a harness and lead in the garden before taking her for a walk in the outside world. Nancy has a Grade 2 Heart Murmur which does not require medication currently but will need to be monitored by adopters vets. Nancy is missing most of her teeth and appears to only have her lower canines and one incisor left, this is not causing Nancy any difficulties and she is eating soft foods well. Nancy has the potential to come on really well and will be a lovely additon to the right home. She has a PETS passport.
26-05-23 UPDATE
This is the lovely Nancy, she’s been with us a few weeks now and she is still very timid. But if you have some patience and wait for her to approach you, it takes time but she will come over with a naturally inquisitive personality. She would need a companion dog in the home to show her the ropes, and learn all about forever home life. She is a stunning girl who is calm and reserved, but in time in a loving home will come out of her shell. She still isn’t walking on a lead, but it’s a learning process and she’ll get there. She can be handled without any issue, you just need to spend time with her to let her trust you before you do try and lift her. But she is very placid in nature! She is waiting her forever home and hopefully you meet the criteria required so she can start loving the rest of her life.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
