12-05-23 Shine has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a worried girl but is trying so hard to be confident and brave. She will gently approach you and give you a little sniff and will accept a gentle fuss, all while shaking. With time and love she will hopefully soon realise that humans can be kind and being stroked is enjoyable. She will be looking for a calm and quiet adult home and would benefit from adopters with experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. She will need at least one other confident dog in her new home to be her friend and to help her to settle in to her new life. She has never lived in a home before so this will be very overwhelming for her at first and her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. Shine has a Grade 1-2 Heart murmur which does not currently require medication but will need to be monitored by adopters vets. She is very sweet and with time and love we think she will blossom into the most amaing girl. She has a PETS passport document.
29-05-23 UPDATE
Just look at me, apparently I am very beautiful and a sweet gentle girl. I travelled well yesterday, to come on my holidays until I find a forever home. I have mixed with the resident dogs, male and female no bother. The cat walks past me and I do nothing. I am timid but desperate to learn and be with you. My tail just wags and wags. If you are quiet and sit still i will come over for a stroke. I will take soft treats when I am not worried, but I don't know what to do with a chew yet. I took a while to come in the house, but when I did i tried out all the beds. I slept through the night without any noise. I did poop but it was my first night in a house so I need to learn about that. I jump at loud noises, so a quiet environment will suit me where I can take my time to come round and understand everyday life. This morning FM enrolled assistance to see if I would come out of the garden for something called a walk. It took 20min of calm soothing encouragement, and after back and forth i made it! Not only to the end of the drive but a short way up a track. I followed a resident dog and had lots of encouragement. FM was so excited and pleased with me. Then we came home and had breakfast. I am being fed separately as I like to think about it and the resident dogs would eat my food. They are greedy but we all bunch together for treats so there is no food aggression.
FM suggests i would bloom in a calm quiet environment. No children yet, as the noise would be too much. You will need plenty of patience and time to let me realise everything is going to be fine. I will need to do things at my pace, then I will be a fabulous companion. Another calm generous dog will be needed. Are you special enough to be suitable to offer me the love and care i deserve? FM is calling me Sweetie as she says I am. See you soon. Sx
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
