22-05-23 Ziya has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is the loveliest girl who once she gets to know you is very excited to see you, although she will run away from you at first, she does enjoy a cuddle once in your arms. She will come up to you and gently lick your fingers and so we don't think it will take her too long to come out her shell and become your best friend. Ziya could be homed as an only dog in the right circumstances with adopters who were home most of the time. We believe she may have lived in a home before but she may still need to learn all about home life and house training. With time and love we think she is going to blossom into the most wonderful girl! She has some hair loss which we think is hormonal and should start to grow back in once she has been spayed. Poor Ziya has needed to have multiple teeth extracted by our vets, she appears a lot more comfortable and is eating well, She also has had some lumps removed by our vets.
30-05-23 UPDATE
Ziya was referred to a specialist for her left eye but it was found she only has the expected age related changes in her eyes which are a bit misty and she appears to see well. There is no further treatment or investigations needed.
31-05-23 UPDATE
This little poppet is an absolute delight!! She went to see the ophthalmic vet yesterday and the great news is there is no problem with her lens, she has a slight atrophy of her left iris which is of no concern and will need no treatment in the future so other than her hair loss she seems fit as a fiddle!! As you can see on the video she is a little nervous but SO wants to be brave and have a tickle under the chin. She is a quiet dog but I think as soon as she comes out of her shell there will be no stopping her. At the moment she is not house trained and doesn't walk on a lead but I don't think it will be long to achieve this. Don't miss out on this little girl she is a superstar waiting for her forever home.
02-06-23 UPDATE
I’ve now had Ziya only 5 days and my conclusion is that she has lived in a home at some point, she is nervous but as you can see from the videos loves to be around people and is quite confident when out walking. I think in the right circumstances she could be homed as an only dog as long as someone is home most of the day. I also think she may be older than 6 years maybe 8 or 9 but we will never know. It's very sad to think she has had a home before being a breeding dog and she now needs as much love as we can give her so she can forget those years.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
