If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

25-10-2023 Iris is a gentle soul who has come to the rescue to find her forever home. She is a little timid at the moment but she will soon flourish with some TLC and patience. She Is more confident when she is with her kennel friends and will approach us to say hello when she is with them. Once she is settled with you, she does accept a fuss but she's not quite brave enough to ask for it yet. Iris has never lived in a home before and will need a calm and loving home to help her grow and blossom in her own time. Iris is missing all her top front teeth and has some hormonal alopecia but her fur should start to grow back once she is spayed.  She has never walked on a lead so she will need help from her forever family to learn this skill and learn all about housetraining. She will also need the help of a kind resident dog to help build her confidence and to be her friend. She will bloom into a happy girl, she just needs time. Iris has been see by our vets and has bilateral cataracts.

02-11-23 UPDATE
Iris has seen the vets to be neutered and has a few health issued to be considered. She has a mature cataract in her right eye. She has had a lump removed from her left side which has been kept if adopters want it sent off for testing. Iris also has multiple pinhead lumps on her skin which could be cysts and are being monitored. Iris has also been advised to lose approx 3 kg to start reaching a healthy weight and this will need to be monitored by adopters vets. For these reasons we would rehome her for a suggested donation only.

14-11-23 UPDATE

Iris is a sweet girl who isn't necessarily the most confident dog, but I also wouldn't describe her as nervous, especially when compared with other "nervous" dogs. She is very approachable, even when I was a stranger to her. She is also a very curious girl and certainly enjoys getting fussed over. Although she doesn't walk on a lead yet, she had no issues with me slipping it on her and picking her up. With time and training she'll definitely be further along than some dogs. As stated before, she does have a skin condition, which visibly looks better. She does also have a cataract. Please see other updates for medical info.

01-12 23 UPDATE

Iris is a lovely lady who deserves a nice home, with someone who wants a low maintenance lap dog.
She is very friendly with people and other dogs, as well as being quiet and laid back.
She does have a medical history which is potentially holding people back, but I hope an empathetic person can find her the place she deserves.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS

All dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN TRAVEL TO WHERE THE DOG YOU WANT TO ADOPT IS LOCATED BEFORE YOU COMPLETE THE ADOOPTION FORM

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
