28-10-2023 Ghost has come to us from a breeder and needs a very experienced and adult only home.  He is extremely nervous around people and is very worrried about being approached.  Ghost would benefit from a home where there is at least one kind resident dog to be his friend and guide him about how to live in a home with humans who will love him. In the right circumstances, with experienced adopters who were around most of the time we may consider homing him as an only dog.  He has never even seen the inside of a home before and so this will be overwhelming at first.  He will need to get used to having a lead put on as at the moment this freaks him out and he will also need to learn new skills like house training.   These are things that may take him a little time to get the hang of as the garden may be as scary for him and the inside of the home at first. Ghost has micro eyes so he was born with smaller eyes than usual, more so on his right eye. This will need to continue to be monitored by his new family and vet. Ghost needs adopters who understand and have the time, love and patience to help him discover the joys that his new life will bring. Ghost will need a home with no cats or small furries.

10-11-23 UPDATE

As much as Ghost is still quite wary of us humans, his curiosity and willingness to want to trust you is evident. His confidence is definitely encouraged around other dogs, watching how they react to you for him to know its safe to approach you too. However, once he’s more familiar with you it begins to show in his slight excitement for you (at a distance still, but so rewarding to witness nevertheless).
Ghost has so much to give behind his guard, I just know he’s a big lovable, playful bear!
You see it in his desperate attempts to approach you, in the way he wishes he could allow you to give him all the love and in the playful bounce of his steps in the play yard.
All he needs is a kind human with patience, to allow him to reveal his true self.

15-12-23 UPDATE

Ghost has come on in leaps and bounds since his first arrival and although he's still a little nervous of touch, he does run up to you, jump up at you and allow a playful fuss. Ghost would like a confident resident dog who is super playful and tolerant, as he can be a lot in play!
He walks on the lead (very excitedly) and cannot live with cats. He loves his nyla bones, this stops him chewing up his bedding! He shares his food, beds and toys with his kennel friends with no issues at all! He's a stunning, comedic boy who absolutely should not still be waiting here!

05-01-24 UPDATE

Ghost is a super affectionate and energetic Husky. I remember when he arrived he was very nervous  and shut down. Ghost has completely transformed since arriving at Many Tears. I'm very lucky to have worked with him often while he's been here and watched first hand as he becomes more confident and affectionate. He walks on lead lovely and regularly goes out with volunteers, meeting new people everyday has helped him grow in confidence and trusting humans. He also LOVES toys ( they must be hard toys ). Today I gave Ghost a bath and he really enjoyed me showering him and washing the shampoo into his fur. He wasn't too pleased when I started to dry him with the dryer but I believe after a few more attempts with that he will cope with it better and become more relaxed. I don't know how this handsome boy is still in kennels after all this time, he is ready now more than ever to find his new loving family and forever home.

16-01-24 UPDATE

I met ghost for the first time today and as a new member of staff what a delight he is! He’s is super energetic and playful so will need a home where the time can be spent walking him and keeping his brain active with puzzle toys, kongs etc… He is very affectionate and loves a fuss. He could live with older children around 16+. However, he does jump up and is quite bouncy. But with patience and training I’m sure he’ll come out of the habit. He walks on the lead and loves to be out exploring. Ghost could live with other dogs (females only) or in the right circumstances could be homed as an only dog. This handsome boy has come such a long way since being with us and deserves all the love and fuss. Hopefully his stay here won’t be for much longer.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
