If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

17-11-2023 Quirky has come to us from a breeder and is a scared and confused little girl to find herself in new surroundings and seeks comfort from the other dogs in her kennel.  Quirky has hormonal alopecia but her fur should start to grow back one she is spayed and her hormones settle.  She is very unsure about being handled and will need a very secure home and garden as she could be a flight risk if she panics.  She will need an adult only home who have some experience with scared dogs and where there is at least one other dog who is kind and gentle and will be happy to share their home with her.   She will watch them and start to copy what they do which will help her learn about house training and once she has settled give him some confidence about walking on a lead.  This should start in the garden before progressing to quiet areas in the outside world.  Quirky needs adopters who understand she will need time to adjust and are happy to slowly guide her into living in a home.  With their help Quirky will become a happy and much loved little girl.

10-12-2023 UPDATE
Beautiful little Quirky is slowly but surely starting to come out of her shell and I can definitely see there’s a cheeky character in there somewhere. For the first week or 2, she only found comfort in hiding in bed in the back of her kennel and would hardly venture out the front. Thankfully this has changed and she now feels confident enough to sit at the front and greet people when they come in. This week she’s started wagging her tail at me when I talk silly to her, which is lovely, and I think it’s the start of growing our bond!!
This sweet soul doesn’t seem to have had much in her life and I don’t think she has a great opinion of us humans, but I do think that will change in time. She really just needs time to decompress and watch us from afar to work us out. Her adopters will need to be very patient with her and understanding of all of her worries and fears. She’s definitely not going to blossom overnight, but seeing a little change in her this week has given me hope that it won’t take her too long to progress. I just hope she doesn’t have to wait here too long.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
