24-11-23 Sweet, tiny Paris has come from a multidog dog home along with her little friends due to their owner's ill health. She has the sweetest personality but she is feeling very shy and unsure at the moment. She likes to hide away in her little snuggle sack and watch the world go by instead of coming forwards for a fuss and is looking for a home with a slower pace of life. She has had a previously broken jaw at some time in her past. An older lady, she has only got 2 teeth left so needs a soft diet. She is a sweetheart and needs someone with heaps of time and patience, in a calm and quiet home to give this tiny girl. She may be small but her heart is huge and when she gives it to you, you will feel like the luckiest person in the world. She will need to be reminded of house training and shown how to walk on a harness and lead but mostly she needs to learn to trust and feel safe to start enjoying her new way of life.

29-11-23 UPDATE
Paris has been to see our vet for a dental and had her remaining teeth removed, she has a grade 4 luxating patella but our vet feels this has been something she has had for a long time. Her jaw appears to have been fractured in the past this may be due to her severe dental disease, it is an old injury that is causing her no problems and she eats and drinks without difficulty.

10-12-23 UPDATE

Paris has been in foster for just over a week and is such a gentle, quiet little lady. She has only had one accident since in being in foster and is now gaining more of her appetite (she did not eat very well in the first few days). All she wants to do is have a warm spot to sleep. She needs carrying outside to the toilet and struggles with steps due to her bad back leg. She is definitely a lapdog as cannot walk far. Paris is currently living with two other Chihuahua's and a calm cocker spaniel and sleeps with all of them well. She needs a very quiet, calm retirement home and other dogs will need to mindful of her sore leg. She seems quite concerned with large dogs and will bark at them (we think this is because she knows she's vulnerable with her bad leg.)

02-01-24 UPDATE
Paris has visited a specialist vet and is in need of specialist surgery to repair her luxating patella. She is desperate to run around and play with her friends but unfortunately she has to watch from the sidelines.
We would love to give her the chance to run and play like she wants to and enjoy life without pain, but specialist surgery comes at quite a large cost. Please help us raise the funds to get her the surgery she needs. We would be so grateful for any donations at all, no matter how small. Thank you so much for your support.

13-01-24 UPDATE

Thank you so much to everyone who very kindly donated to or shared the plea of Paris, the little Chihuahua who needed specialist surgery. Thanks to your kindness she has now had her surgery and can begin her long recovery. The vet is very happy with how her surgery went and she is comfortable and eating well. We are so grateful that she has been given the chance to have the rest of her life being able to move freely without pain.

04-02-24 UPDATE

Paris is still recovering from her knee surgery and her operation seems to have given her a new lease of life. We have to keep reminding her that she is recovering from a big operation! She's doing well on her physiotherapy and is being very good at being crate rested. She is so happy to meet everyone and deserves a quiet home where she can be lavished with lots of love.

23-03-23 UPDATE
Paris is now 6 weeks post surgery and is ready to find a special home.
She is still recovering from her operation so any adopters will need to be willing to continue her care for this which involves not allowing her to jump up on furniture or have too many walks at the moment. This is something which can be built up over time.
Paris has changed so much since her operation. Before, she was reluctant to walk and wanted to stay in her bed all day. Now, she gets very excited to go out on adventures although she is still very much a lap/blanket dog.
She needs a quiet, calm home with gentle dogs as she is a fragile little lady who does not like the company of boisterous dogs.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
