30-12-24 Poppy is a very sweet girl who originally came to us from a breeder and was breifly adopted. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of her control, she has been returned to us as her adopters health took a turn for the worst and Poppy is now back with her previous foster mum. When Poppy first came to us in February of 2024, she was very shy and had little to no confidence. After spending some time in the rescue, she learned all about human kindness and that there is no threat to her here. She slowly began to open up and build her confidence and after some time and trust, Poppy entered into foster where she excelled tremendously and her personality grew. Poppy has the most beautiful soul and is just as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside... I mean just look at those beautiful eyes! Poppy has been such a brave girl during all of her changes, and is taking them in stride. She is showing us everyday just how resilliant and poised she can be. Poppy is currently in foster with multiple dogs of all sizes and met and accepted them very politely and is happy and comfortable in their presence regardless of their size or sex. According to her foster mum, she has been clean in the house so far but will continue on a regular schedule to remind her of her special house training skills just in case the change in environment confuses her. Poppy is currently sleeping with a kind resident dog she can snuggle up to, although we are sure she would love to cuddle a human just as much! Poppy has been out on walks, and is showing off just how good she is on a harness! In the mornings, Poppy enjoys doing zoomies around the garden with her furry-friends, and would benefit from a kind companion to rely on while she settles into her new home. Poppy is also a little sound sensitive and as we cannot imagine or fathom what has happened to her in her lifetime, she is looking for a calm and quiet home to settle into so she can enjoy life again. Poppy does have a low grade hurt murmer that she takes medicine for, so her new family will need to continue this and help her stay fit and active to live her best life. Poppy is ready to settle back into a home where she can enjoy long countryside walks, follwed up with a cwtch on the sofa.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
