If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

06-07-24 Rob Roy has come to us from a breeder ready to find his forever home. He is a worried boy who is a little overwhelmed to find himself here at the moment and will try his best to run away from you. Once you approach him, he is quite calm, so with time, love and care he will hopefully soon start to realise that human hands can be kind. He relies on his kennel friends for comfort and so will be looking for a home where there is at least one other confident resident dog who will be his friend and take him under their wing. Rob Roy would like a calm and quiet, adult only home with no visiting children and adopters who have experience with worried ex-breeding dogs. He was briefly adopted but was very fearful of the man in the home and would panic and could make the wrong decision. He has never lived in a home before so his adopters will need to be kind and understanding as he settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. He is a sweet boy and in the right home and with TLC he is going to truly thrive. Rob just needs someone who is patient, has experience with dogs and has time for him and his loving heart.  He has a PETS travel document.

23-07-24 UPDATE

Rob Roy is an absolutly beautiful boy who is very worried of new people. Since being here he has taken a little while to come out of his shell as he doesn't realise that us humans are actually not all the same. He is still weary if he doesn't know you, but once he does know you he now approaches with a big tail wag and wanting some love and attention. Seeing him want love and attention is such a huge step for this handsome boy. Rob Roy has started harness training and has picked it up really quick, though he is very wary and nervous of any gates or loud noises when out on a walk. But once he's out he does start to enjoy it. Rob Roy as stated previously always relies on his kennel friends to bring out his confidence, so in his new home he will need a calm and relaxed resident dog to continue to make him blossom. Throughout the day he does try and be kennel clean with the odd wee here and there, but once he's in a home I think he will pick up toilet training pretty well especially with the help of his new friend at the home. Rob Roy will need a calm adult only home with someone with experience with a nervous ex breeding dog and who's patient with him as he progresses in the home.

Rob Roy is such a delightful little dude, although timid of new people, he soon warms to you and then is all about the fuss and cuddles. He walks nicely on a harness for people he trusts and thoroughly enjoys going down to the big play yard with a mixture of other dogs. He loves food, treats and even enjoys a toy every now and then. He will need a resident dog in his new home and he gets on with other dogs beautifully, we often find him curled up in the back of his kennel with his friends. In the right home, he is going to make an exceptional companion. Could that home be yours?

28-08-24 UPDATE

Meeting Rob Roy for the first time and without any kennel staff he knows, he really showed how nervous he still is of new people. With this in mind his family will need to be understanding and patient and give him the time he needs to learn he can trust you. He will most definitely need a resident dog in his new home, not only to learn from - but he finds so much comfort in other dogs that he will need a doggy companion to turn to for support. When you have earned his trust however and he is comfortable in your company, he will need a family who will give him the fun active loving life he so deserves, one of his favourite things to do is run around but only when he feels relaxed enough to do so. There are a lot of things that he has made progress in and for an ex breeder like Rob Roy, learning things like walking on a harness, it’s ok to play with his friends, meeting other doggy friends on play dates and being brave with people he knows - are very big steps for this young man!

26-09-24 UPDATE

I worked with Rob Roy for the first time today and he is such a sweetheart! When I first walked into his kennel he would stand at the back of his kennel buddy’s and look at me. He would edge a bit closer each time and eventually would come up and smell my hand, he’d then go at the back of his friends and observe me again. I would say he is a bit shy but curious! He allowed me to put a coat over him and gave me a little tail waggle, ready to go down to the big play yard. I can really tell when he’s just around his kennel buddy’s he’s a different dog completely. He loves to play with his friends, loves to play with toys and loves to have zoomies!
He gets on with any dog, and doesn’t mind sharing his food. He is just the most perfect little man. He has progressed on walking with a harness and is now a pro! He loves to go on his walks !
24-10-2024 UPDATE

Hello my name is Dan. So today I got to meet a very special soul named RoB Roy. Rob Roy is a 3 year old labradoodle X. Rob Roy found himself at many tears after arriving to us from an ex breeder in IRELAND around 4 months ago. Rob Roy has already been adopted and had a little taste of home life however were he had special needs consisting of fear and lack of socialisation, he needed to be treated carefully as in not to move to quick or make sudden noises or movements around him, and also not to push his limits too quickly. They didn’t listen and were they’ve pushed him to much he acted out and they returned him. It was said that he had a problem with males….i am a male and to be honest other than the fact he had never met me before he didn’t act any differently. Obviously rob Roy has never met me before and coming out away from his kennel buddies was quite scary, however with a member of staff who he knows well, he was more than happy to come for a little walk with me. I will say when his kennel mummy left he definitely lost a lot of confidence but that is to be expected. I feel if I was to spend a good 30 minutes doing simple things like giving treats on the floor, and just being around him socialising would vastly improve his confidence with me. I’ve been told and shown previous pictures that shows Rob Roy’s true colours, and he is a very cuddly affection boy and with the right adopters he would thrive in a home environment. Because of Rob Roy’s confidence he will definitely need at least 1 other dog in his new home. Small children would be considered if they are dog savy and this isn’t their first time at living with a dog. Rob Roy is good with all dogs he’s met, he attends a big group play meeting with a wide variety of dogs and sex’s. Rob Roy would fit most home set ups proving his people will be around more often than not to help keep his socialising to a maximum. If you’d like to meet Rob Roy he is currently at many tears animal rescue. Thanks for reading.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
