05-08-24 Daniel is a sweetheart through and through with the softest ears and a heart of gold, he has come to us from Ukraine via War Paws Rescue. Daniel like to play gently, likes lounging in the sun, loves to cuddle while getting some well deserved fuss, he’s such an easy dog. Daniel prefers the chilled out life and doesn't require long walks. He is a little shy of some men but comes around quite quickly with some kind words. Since arriving at Many Tears he is a little nervous around loud noises and formal handling when being checked over but overall he is such a laid back boy and is easy to handle. Daniel walks on a lead, loves a fuss, and loves a snooze.. oh and food!! Daniel enjoys being in the company of other dogs and would love a confident resident dog to keep him company and show him around his new home. Daniel has never lived in a home before so he will need help learning new skills such as housetraining and understanding adopters. He will need understanding adopters that are mindful he is new to the UK so when out and about may never have heard/seen things we consider normal so will need to be introduced into the big wide world slowly and put in environments he can grow in confidence and flourish. Daniel is such a lovely boy and cannot wait to be a cherished member of the family. He has a Grade 2-3 heart murmur which does not require medication but will need to be monitored by adopters vets. Daniel has a passport.
On arrival with us Daniel tested positive for Heartworm. He is currently recieving ongoing treatment for this and this is not contagious. Once his treatment has ended he will need to receive monthly wormer and have repeat testing done until he has two consecutive negative tests, our vet estimates this will take around 6-12 months. Should anyone wish to adopt Daniel while he is on treatment our team will discuss his treatment plan in full with any potential adopters and adopters would need to sign an agreement to ensure Daniel undergoes his retesting with vets to ensure he is clear of heartworm.

Daniel has been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Borrelia, Babesia and Canine Brucellosis while in the Ukraine between 2022-2023, He tested positive for Heartworm in 2022 but after further scans tested negative. Daniel has also been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Borrelia and Canine Brucellosis since his arrival at the rescue using Bionote rapid tests and tested negative for everything except Heartworm which he tested positive for. We understand that vets have differing policies in regards to imported dogs and may request testing again in 3 months hence why these dogs are by a reduced adoption fee. Our rehoming team can provide futher information on the tests completed if required. We will be retesting the dogs again in 3 months if they have not been adopted by then and are happy for adopters to bring their dogs back to the rescue for testing and will only charge the cost of the tests.

13-08-24 UPDATE

This is Daniel and he is the most special boy in the world. I've been lucky enough to work with him consistently in the past week and he has really come out of his shell. I had no expections of his progress, especially as he hasn’t been with us long, so each stride he’s made has made me so proud already. Daniel has started to come up to me with a waggle tail and loves a good fuss. The best way to a Daniels heart is squeezy cheese. That’s really helped me to gain his trust and for him to be more comfortable around me. I really hope Daniel can find his forever home soon because he would be the absolutely perfect addition to any home and would be the bestest boy in the world.

29-04-24 UPDATE

Daniel is a gentle soul who is safely staying in our kennels, but really deserves to find his forever home and move on from his past. Ideally he would need a confident resident dog to bring him completely out of his shell again and he does get on with most dogs and has no problems sharing his kennel space. Even during meal times and sleeping hours, he’s happy to be around a doggy companion.
Daniel is super sweet and walks perfectly on a lead. He’s also kennel clean. Daniel has come on so much in the few months he’s been with us, but now it’s time for him to flourish in a home.
