If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

03-08-24 Deidre is an absolute sweetheart who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. . She’s a gentle girl who is apprehensive when she first meets you. She isnt confident enough to approach as yet and will shy away if we walk towards her. She loves her kennel friends and their help she will accept a gentle fuss.  She would like a kind resident dog in her new home to be her best friend and also show her everything she needs to know about home living. Everything will be brand new for her as she’s never been in one before, so she may be a little overwhelmed to begin with and will need help leanring new skills such as housetraining and learning to walk on a lead/harness. She would prefer a calm home where she can start to relax. We really do believe she will blossom into the most loving little girl!

Diedre has progressed well since her initial write up. She now comes up for attention and isn't as shy as she used to be, and actually I thought her quite confident, until I took her to the front of the rescue today, where you saw her lose her confidence being in an unfamiliar place. I took Deidre and her kennel friend to our big play yard and she loved having a play and race around. She let me brush her and settled her head on my chest while I brushed her ears. She’s a lovely & affectionate girl. I'm sure she'd settle well in a home with a resident dog, although not confident enough to be an only, she seems fairly relaxed around people. Deidre is a clever, happy girl with a gentle personality, she rarely barks and is not a demanding dog. She walks well on the lead and is a confident walker. I think she'd slot into family life easily.

If you had met this girl, you wouldn't understand why Dear Deirdre is still here. She's always happy, friendly to the staff she knows well, easy to look after and well behaved. Deirdre is not reactive to other dogs and quietly walks past dogs that are barking at her.
Deidre went out and met a cat today and she was wary and wouldn't go near, so she could live with a dog savvy cat as long as the cat food is out of her reach. Deidre also went to meet some smaller dogs and she was very polite with them. The only reason I can think of why she's still here, is her unusual coat, but I think she's unique and it makes her a one in a million.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
