18-11-24 Inka is a beautiful girl who came to us from a breeder a few months ago, and was adopted for a short period of time but has found her way back to us as she was showing some personality traits in the home that she didn't display in kennels. Inka has lived with a large breed, male dog for most of her life and so she would need a kind and patient male in her new home that will allow her the space to be herself if she is feeling fussy, but will also allow her to rely on him for comfort and assurance as she settles into her new home. Inka is protective of her things and we are told she showed signs of resource gaurding of her empty food bowl and toys. Her new adopters will need to be understanding of this, and experienced with dogs who guard to help guide her in the right direction with positive reinforcement and training. We are told she did have a reaction to children passing by on her walks, and would bark at them so she will need to be in an adult only home without children, or visiting children and in a rural area where she can enjoy quiet walks. She also fixates on cats and is quite intrigued by them, so no cats in the home would be ideal. Inka absolutely loves the outdoors - its hard to even get her to come inside once she is out, but once she is in, she settles in quite nicely. Inka is very affectionate, and loves to come up for a fuss and would love for her new adopters to be home majority of the time so she can get all the attention she craves! Inka is house clean and walks very well on a lead, and loves to go on adventures! Inka really is a great girl that is attempting to navigate her new environments and would benefit well from some additional skills training and a routine!

Inka was adopted with her friend Otto (aka Arlas). Unfortunately it turned out to be a failed adoption and both were returned to us as Inka started showing some traits that we hadn’t experienced in Many Tears. We originally were keen to getting the two of them adopted together, but in hindsight now and the new information we have received, then we are now considering separating them as we have seen Inka go from totally relying on Arlas to be around, to becoming more confident and less shy when she is on her own. I believe with the right person, she could be an only dog now as an option, as well as being adopted to a family with a large resident dog. If she was to go as an only dog, then her adopters would have to have lots of time on their hands to give to this fun and friendly dog. She apparently had some guarding issues, but loves playing fetch with a ball and returning it with no problem, and she loves a fuss. When feeding her, she does not need to be separated from her kennel friend, but her kennel friend knows not to approach her until she has finished. She would need a home with no children and although she is fine walking on a lead, like all huskies and malamutes, she should not be let off lead. She loves going for walks though and is not a bit bothered by staying on a lead. When she is free in an enclosed yard she loves running and playing chase with balls. Inka has issues which can all be explained and easily managed to anyone wishing to take Inka on. Once Inka knows you and trusts you, you could not wish for a better campanion. She so deserves her forever home and we will be sad (but very happy for her) to see her leave with a person who will give her all the time she needs and a loving home she wants.

Inka has adjusted really well to being an only dog in her kennel and has blossomed into a more confident girl, who I'm sure will now manage ok as an only dog. Inka doesn't react to other dogs when they are shouting and barking at her, she has to walk past 5 noisy kennels for me to take her out to the exercise yard, she ignores the other dogs, occasionally she'll stop to see who's making the noise. Inka is a joy to look after, and in kennels she's not exhibiting any of ehr old issues, so we can't work with her on this. She is a very happy huge ball of fluff, and talking of fluff, she is easy to groom, she did put her mouth on my hand so, so, gently to tell me I'd pulled her fur. Inka helps in that she'll lie down while I brush her, as long as she gets a tummy rub now and again. She also let me trim her dew claws. When Inka is feeling playful, which is a few times a day, she'll howl at me with a smile on her face, she play bows, and I think she'd be a proper little mischief. Inka is settled in her kennel, she's not demanding of attention, doesn't bark much except at feed time when she'll yell at me to hurry up. Inka can be wary of meeting new people, she doesn't automatically go up to meet people, but once she knows you, she's affectionate. In the right home, with the right experience, she's going to be someone's very special girl, who I'm sure will keep you smiling

Inka is the most special, gorgeous girl here. She is just a bundle of joy and once she is comfortable with you, wow she is just perfect. I remember the first day I met Inka when she first arrived and she was nervous and I did have to approach her slowly but once she realised I wasn't there to hurt her she soon changed her tone. I can say since that day she has been an absolute angel with me. We've shared plenty of hugs and kisses. We've gone on loads of walks and she's had plenty of zoomies and of course belly rubs. It's hard seeing a girl like Inka still in kennels as she has so much love to share. Inka definitely needs an adult only home for her to succeed as she needs time to trust and love. I hope this angel doesn't have to spend much more time in kennels as she deserves the absolute world. It's time now for her to find her new family and forever home.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
