03-09-2024 Stan is a boy who your heart goes out to. He has come to us from a breeder and is very confused, unsure and overwhelmed to suddenly find himself in new surroundings and is a little skittish and will run when approached. However, if you sit quietly he will slowly approach but only if he is with his kennel friends. Stan deserves the best life possible with patient and understanding adopters who will be his world. He will definitely need at least one other dog for comfort and support and he really relies heavily on his kennel friends. Once he has settled into his new home and feels a little braver he will start to watch his new friend(s) and copy what they do which will really help him with house training. Stan needs adopters who have all the patience and love in the world to help him discover that his new life will be wonderful. Lead walking will need to start in the garden to make sure he is comfortable wearing a harness and lead before venturing out into quiet walking areas. Stan has a PETS travel document.
23-09-24 UPDATE
Stan is an awesome little guy, we met for the first time today and he was keen to say hello. He was a little shy at first, but soon allowed me to give him a fuss and took great interest in having a good sniff to see what I was all about and soon seemed quite unfazed by my presence. I am informed by his kennel mums that he has just begun harness training and is doing ok, venturing out today on a little walk to go for a play with his friends in one of our big play yards. You can see from his pics this guy has a cheeky little character just waiting to be coaxed out with the love and kindness of a family of his own. As Stan is still a little unsure of humans he will be looking for a home where there will be at least one other dog and would be best suited with a male dog companion.
22-10-2024 UPDATE
Stan here, I thought I'd send a message to my new family who are looking for me, My foster mum suggested in waiting so I could show off my new haircut... My foster mum is impressed and says I don't smell like a sweaty old sock anymore and she will be able to get a comb through it. I am sharing my foster home with 5 girls (please rescue me soon). The eldest is a grumpy 19 year old and the youngest is 2 and I love running around the garden with her. Apparently I'm a work in progress over toileting, I'm good overnight but I'm not to keen in going out when it's dark or raining. (About 80%) I walk on a lead if I'm with confident dogs and if I've taken a shine with the human... I will walk with my foster mum but not for my dad. I like snuggling up on the sofa and like gentle strokes I'm a little nervous and duck down if you move to quick but I'm no fighter or biter I would prefer to move away and hide if im worried. I do take comfort from doggy friends and happily share the sofa and my bed with them. I am ok travelling as long as I can see you I get nervous when I don't see you. I am living with children and I do like them if they are calm and not too busy. I am weary of the more busy children and try and keep out of their way. I have been with my foster mum for 3 weeks, and she has told me I am a beautiful boy that has a fantastic nature. I have taken everything in my stride. So I'm off to watch some TV and will be waiting patiently for you to find me. Big kisses Stan.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
