If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

04-09-2024 Rex has come to us from a home with his friend following a divorce. Although they were rehomed together they were adopted breifly but weren't getting along together in their new home and so now we will be looking to home them separately. Rex could be homed as an only dog or could live with another kind resident dog. He is super loving, bright and quite an active boy considering his age! He has been assessed by our vet and does have some age related cataracts but no action is needed for these at this time. Poor Rex is confused to find himself here as he is used to home comforts and loves to snuggle under a duvet. Rex's previous owner told us he loves to cuddle and play with toys although he can destroy them!  He is good with children and was regularly walked by a dog walker with multiple other dogs. Rex walks on a lead but is a little strong as he is used to off lead walking. He loves a little bit of cheese in the morning and as his bedtime treat.  Rex will make a fantastic companion for anyone willing to give him a chance!

24-09-24 UPDATE

I have only met Rex a handful of times but he is an absolute angel of a boy. He is very sweet and friendly and he loves a fuss… it's just such a shame that he's found himself here. He is quite strong on a lead still, but he loves going outside, whether that's to the play yard for a run around and a sniff or going out on walks with staff or volunteers. Rex is always welcoming when you walk into his kennel and always greets you with a little smile and a tail wag. He loves his food and absolutely loves treats. Rex is also brilliant with his kennel friends so could be homed with another kind dog, but he could also be homed as an only dog. Please consider giving him his new and forever home, kennel life is no life for any dog but especially dogs that have come to us from a home and are used to the home life and comforts. He is an older dog, but he has so much life and love left in him to give, please don't let him spend too long living in kennels he deserves his forever home

31-10-2024 UPDATE

So today I had the pleasure of meeting Rex! Rex has never met myself before and straight off the bat he was extremely happy to see me (maybe it was my lead) and got very waggy. As I lent down to say hello he came straight into my arms and was very happy and loved to have an ear tickle. We then commenced to have our walk. Rex is an angel when out and about, he is very strong on a lead so a harness would be highly beneficial for both parties involved whilst out and about. Rex has spent all his life in a home and is extremely used to home life, he’s done quite well adapting to kennel life, and is genuinely quite happy aslong as people are around. In his new home he could live with smaller savy children who have maybe been around dogs more often than not. He could definitely live with another dog, he gets along well with dogs here at the rescue, he’s definitely been socialised well throughout his life. Rex would be looking for a quiet, but slightly active home where he will get a nice bit of time exercising and even more time just lounging around and chilling. Despite his age he is still a very healthy boy. Rex could also go as an only dog, he loves people and could definitely get all he needs from a loving devoted person. If you would like to meet Rex or know more then please come and visit him at many years animal rescue. Thanks for reading
