12-09-24 Midge is a sweetheart who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She arrived with sore ears which are being cleaned and treared. She is a darling dog who is very timid at the moment and doesnt yet know how to come forwards and meet us but she does begin to relax a bit when you spend time with her and she can understand she is safe around you. She doesnt yet walk on a lead but with the support of a kind person who has plenty of patience and a lovely resident dog to lead the way we dont think it will take her very long to learn about this and all about other home skills. She has never lived inside before so will need to learn all about house training and get used to the sights and sounds of home. With a little encouragement and lots of love she will soon get the hang of everything and will love being someones special girl. Midge has a PETS travel document.

03-10-24 UPDATE

Midge is a heartbreaker. Her face tells her story. She is sad and struggling in kennels and has found it hard to navigate such a busy place. She is just a shy little girl who will run away from you when you try to approach, but once cornered she will allow you to stroke her and pick her up. She still looks so worried when we give her reassurance but doesn’t have a bad bone in her body and just lets us handle her. But truly, Midge is desperate for a family that will allow her time and space to grow in to her confidence at her own pace - she needs security, calmness and peace to begin her new chapter. At the moment, Midge will definitely still need a resident dog in the home to help guide her, but I’m sure that with time and a change of scene, Midge will flourish. It’s just so sad to see such a lovely girl be so sad, especially when we know that there’s a little diamond underneath the worry.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
