08-10-2024 Sumiso is a nervous boy who has come to us from a breeder. He desperately wants to show someone that he is a loving and handsome guy. Sumiso will need at least one resident dog to seek comfort in and rely on for support while he settles into his new home. As he has never lived in a home before, he will need pateince and guidance from his adopters to help him with house trainings and to learrn how to walk on a lead. At the moment Sumiso is very worried and timid, but is much braver with his kennel friends and approaches with a wagging tail when he is with them. It is obvious that he is desperate to give and receive love, but is lacking the confidence he needs to show his true personality at the moment. With adopters who have plenty of time, love and patience this boy is going to shine.
23-10-2024 UPDATE
Sumiso’s confidence has rocketed since he first arrived and he’s no longer the shy boy he once was. As soon as he gets to know you and he trusts you, he is super loving and affectionate. He gets so excited to see me every day and waves his legs around in the air because he just doesn’t know what to do with himself .. it’s the sweetest thing ever. Even though it’s clear he REALLY wants love, he is still a little bit hand shy so is still quite flinchy when I go to fuss him. This is getting better every day though and he’s really getting used to it now. I don’t think it will take too long before he becomes a proper lap dog. I have started a little bit of harness training with Sumiso and considering it’s very early days, he’s doing really well. With some more practice, I don’t think it will be long at all before he’s enjoying adventures!! It would definitely still be a good idea for his new family to practice in the garden and really quiet areas for a while though! Sumiso will still need a resident dog in his new home just because he is very reliant on his friends and does become a lot more withdrawn when he’s away from them. He’s also super playful with them, so it would be lovely if any resident dog would have some fun with him too. He really is a very special boy and I hope he doesn’t have to wait much longer to find his happy ever after.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
