24-10-2024 A nervous little soul that has found her way to us is Tess, the beautiful Australian Labradoodle. Tess has come to us from a breeder and is nervous and reserved, she's not too sure why she's here. Although Tess is a worried soul she is also a curious little lady, if you sit calmly with her she will trot over and give you the sniff test! After your sniff test she will allow small gentle movements but still feels a bit shy in herself. Tess is going to blossom into a really loyal sidekick when given the chance we just know it. Tess will need to go to a home with another dog present, this will be for support and confidence building as she adopts to her new life as a beloved family member. With another dog present it will also help Tess learn house manners such as toilet training and lead walking (Although she is currently learning how to lead walk and she is doing amazing!), she will also need recurrence with sounds around the house such as the TV and hoover as she may not have heard them before. Tess comes with PETS passport travel documents.

29-10-2024 UPDATE

Tess is the sweetest little girl with the most beautiful eyes you have ever seen. She has gained so much confidence even in the short time she’s been with us, she’s very foodie and actually already knows how to sit. I think although her confidence has increased immensely she would still like another dog in the house to help her confidence continue to grow.
Tess still has her nervous moments but when she's away from the centre she is confident as anything. She LOVES her long walks and can pull a little from excitement on the lead. She's such a cheeky, funny character, who knows "sit" already!
I think once she's settled into a home she'll almost be a "ready made" dog! She needs an active home as she is a very playful, excitable girl who loves to run and run and run and run! She is VERY vocal in her play with other dogs and humans. She could be too  much for children so would suit an adult home better.

05-11-2024 UPDATE
Tess is showing us more of her sparkling personality everyday, I noticed she didn't show the average traits that other ex-breeding dogs tend to have and with more digging I found out that Tess was bought as a pup, grew up in a home, and returned to the breeder as she is a very busy lady with lots and lots of energy! Far more than your average doodle. When Tess arrived with us she already had her name and she knows it too, she is super responsive to it. She is a very very clever girly, eager to learn and use her busy brain! I would describe her as a busy springer type of dog, she will need an active home for sure! One thing's for sure, when Tess creates a bond with you, she will seek comfort in you and demand lots of play! When Tess is feeling insecure about something on a walk (here it is horses,) she will let out short sharp 'alert' barks, but she calms down from her little barks very quickly and easily, and it's easy to spot when she is feeling insecure as she is so full of expression! Tess would do very well to have a confident, well rounded dog to copy and learn from so that she doesn't end up acting in her insecurities too much and sees that things are okay. She has met every dog here with perfect manners, which is great as it means she gets lots of extra play times with different kennels of dogs! Tess can be quite mouthy in her play, she is very young so this is something she will grow out of with the right guidance. She also has shown some herding behaviour so I think she would LOVE games of chase with flirt poles and footballs to get that need met in an appropriate way! Tess will truly make an awesome awesome addition to someone's home, where she will be loved and cherished the way she should've always been

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
