If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

28-10-24 Orfeas has come to us all the way from Cyprus. He was rescued by Sirius Dog Sanctuary and has now come here to find his forever home. When Orfeas was first rescued, he was severely underwieight, covered in ticks and completely emeciated. The Sirius dog rescue have worked wonders to help Orfeas and now he has come to us to continue his journey. Orfeas's new home will need to be understanding of the sorry state he was once in, and allow him compassion and grace. He is a calm and intelligent boy who is so ready to find his new family and despite his recent past, he would love to find an active home with adopters who will keep him both mentally and physically stimulated. He can already walk well on a lead and is going to love going on adventures with his forever family. He is confident enough that he could be homed as an only dog as long as his adopters were around most of the time. He could also be homed with a female resident dog and shares his kennel here with a female wonderfully. He does show some signs of guarding food with other dogs so would benefit from adopters who have experience with this if he was to be homed with another dog and would need to be fed separately. He has never lived in a home before so his adopters will need to be kind and understanding as he settles in and learns all about home life and house training. He is so friendly and cannot wait to find his forever home. Orfeas has a passport.

Important Information regarding Orfeas:
Orfeas has been tested for Leishmania and Canine Brucellosis while in Cyprus and initially tested positive for Leishmania. He has had regular testing and has now tested negative three times consecutively for for both of these. Leishmania can be triggered by stress and for this reason, his rescuers put him on another three months of medication to try and avoid any reoccurance. Whilst on these meds he needs a low purine diet and our team can discuss this with any potential adopters. Orfeas LOVES his food!
We will provide paperwork of this in the adoption pack and our rehoming team can provide futher information on the tests completed if required.
Lovely Orfeas has clearly had a big leg injury in the past that has healed and his leg is now permanently wonky. This causes him no pain and he manages very well with it, he can even climb with it!!

07-11-24 UPDATE

Hi, my name is Orfeas and I’m tall, dark with handsome blue eyes and I’m looking for a special home with lots of fun and attention from my new family.
When I was young I didn’t have a good upbringing and wasn’t loved much, I even broke my ankle but didn’t have anyone to take me to the vet so it healed a little wonky.
I’m ok now and my ankle has healed and even put some weight on, so it’s time for me to move on and find a new home and have my own family who love me. I’ve never lived in a home and if I could tell you about where I had to live in the past it would make you cry.
I love to be with all humans, as long as they give me space and follow a few rules. I could be an only dog in my new home or I could live with female dogs. I'm not keen on sharing my food with other dogs so my adopters would need to manage this if I was homed with another dog. I also don’t want a cat in my new home.
A home is all I want so please don’t leave me here too much longer, I promise I will be good.  Love Orfeas x

Orfeas is one really special boy who epitomises the definition of true grit! Orfeas has clearly had some troubled times in his past as seen from his numerous scars and marks littered across his body, his background however doesn’t stop Orfeas from being one of, if not the most gentle and loving dogs in the whole rescue! He has quickly become a massive staff favourite here at many tears and if you’d met him you’d understand why! He’s such a chilled out happy boy who loves a fuss and loves to play. He’s doing incredibly well here with us but as always we believe there is a warm cosy home waiting for him with loving parents who can give him the attention he most definitely deserves at this point in his life.
Orfeas is more than confident enough to be homed as an only dog, but he absolutely loves his kennel buddy bunny, meaning he could definitely go with another resident dog also! Orfeas is incredibly intelligent and has taken to walking on a lead like a duck to water! He is also almost completely kennel clean but may need some basic house training still as he has never lived in a home before! Orfeas’ new owners must understand the challenges he has faced in the past to fully appreciate how special this boy is! Orfeas will capture his new owners hearts in an instant and will reciprocate any love given to him and much more!

Orfeus is a loving, blue eyed beauty who has come to us from Cyprus. Originally a stray starving on the streets, he's come a long way, and has a delicate sweet temperament which makes your heart glow, especially after knowing what he's been through. Orfeas walks well on a lead and is very active, which is nice to see that his previous injury doesn't hold him back. He regularly plays in the yard with his kennel mate who he very comfortably shares a kennel and bedspace with. This means there is the possibility of him going to a home with another resident dog. However I think he'd make an even better only dog given his confidence levels and desire for human interaction.

Special special boy alert…Orfeas came to us back in October all the way from Cyprus where his life out there was very bleak until he was rescued by the Sirius Dog Sanctuary who did a fantastic job with him and pretty much brought this poor soul back to life. He was found in the streets with a broken leg and a nasty disease that left him emaciated, infected and covered in skin lesions. Orfeas then made the big journey to Many Tears where he’s still patiently waiting for his first ever home!! I think we can all agree that this handsome man really is a miracle and it goes to show that with the love, care, attention and not giving up… he didn’t either and he fought for a better life. Orfeas is absolutely stunning in every way. His colouring, his beautiful eyes and his loving nature is everything. He always greets you with a waggy tail. He loves to be out and about having a good old sniff like a true pointer, and chasing his kennel buddy down the big play yard. Orfeas is a big foodie and polishes off every bowl, when you bring him his food or give him treats his eyes go all big and googly so training him shouldn’t be an issue. He goes out most of the week with different volunteers and isn’t phased with meeting new people, to be honest I think he’s just happy with being out! Orfeas can be homed as an only dog or with a female dog. We would suggest if any children to be 16+ who are mature and understand his background and that he’ll need space, time and patience when he settles into his new home. We are all wondering why he is still here with us, he’s soo special. After everything he’s been through he really deserves a home he can call his own for the very first time!! Orfeas has really been through hell and back, please please please give this boy a chance. It’s the least he deserves.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
