03-11-24 Coco is an absolutely lovely boy who has come to us from a breeder. Coco is very people oriented and would be best suited as an only dog as he is not very keen on other dogs at the moment. Coco is very doting and loving, and would make a great loyal companion for anyone willing to give him a chance. He does walk on a lead quite well, but has never lived in a home before so his adopters will need to be kind and understanding as he settles in and learns all about home life and house training. He will be looking for an active home with adopters who can keep him both physically and mentally stimulated and we think he is going to love going on walks and adventires with his new family. Coco has sore skin on his chin which has been assessed by our vet and is currently being treated. He had his teeth scaled at the time of his spay but may need some extractions in the future. Coco is a wonderful boy who cannot wait to find his forever home! He will need a cat free home.
03-12-24 UPDATE
Lovely Coco has settled well into rescue life. When he came trotting in from the play yard he had a very brief seizure, he recovered quickly and has been very closely monitored since. He has not had another one and our vet has done some blood tests. If he has a second seizure within 6 months then it would be recommended that he start medication for epilepsy so please bear this in mind before applying. Our team can discuss this in further detail.
Coco is a sweet boy who has come from a breeder. His nature is super sweet, he's especially affectionate towards people. He constantly looks to me on walks to check I'm with with him, and it brings him great comfort to know I'm there. He can be homed with another resident dog, and can also go as an easy only dog given his keen attachment to everyone that has the pleasure of working with him.
28-01-25 UPDATE
This distinguished gentleman has been waiting for his new home for far too long, he is absolutely perfect, a soft and loving soul that for some unknown reason keeps being over looked. I know in his previous update it states that we think he had a brief seizure but we now think this may have been caused as he got excited and pulled on his slip lead. Since Coco has been on my section we have moved from the slip lead to a harness and a halti which I am over the moon to say he has had no problems with and is doing absolutely amazing. He doesn’t like the halti at the start but once he’s on his walk he soon forgets about it and he’s an absolute pleasure to walk, he even goes out for long walks with one of our regular volunteers! He likes to spend most of his day tucked up in bed under the heat lamp as he doesn’t seem to appreciate this cold weather too much, he knows his name now and will always make the effort to jump out of bed when I call him. Coco would be the perfect addition to anyone’s family and could definitely go with older children who will cherish him and be his best friend. He can jump up sometimes but it’s always gentle and just because he wants a cuddle. Whenever you are in his kennel you will find him next to you because he just wants to be loved. He’s good with other dogs and is now sharing his kennel with one of our husky girls! He’s not reactive to other dogs when on a walk but he absolutely hates cats. He’s such a sweet boy who just wants to be loved, have cuddles and spend his days next to you. I really hope coco finds his forever family soon as he really is such an amazing boy who deserves the world. It’s sad to see an older dog spend his days in kennels when he deserves a nice warm bed in a loving home.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
