If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

21-12-24 This handsome boy is Kolby and her originally came to us at the start of December from a home due to a change in family circumstances. He was very briefly adopted but was sadly returned to us as his adopters felt he wasn't a right fit for them. Kolby is still just a puppy really and does display some puppy tendancies still and so will be looking for adopters who will continue his training and who will help him grow into a well rounded adult dog. Kolby can be a little mouthy and so for this reason he will be looking for an aduilt only home. He is a typical Welsh Collie and so will be looking for adopters who are active and who have experience with Collies or similar breeds. Kolby is quite worried at the moment but with time, love and kindness he will start to come out of his shell and truly begin to thrive. Kolby is a very smart boy and can already walk on the lead and we are told that he is house trained, but he might need some reminders in his new home. Kolby would like to find a home where there was another kind and confident resident dog to be his friend. Being a collie, he will need an active home where he can be kept both mentally and physically sitmulated and will get to use his intelligent brain. He is a lovely boy and in the right home he is going to truly thrive!

06-01-2025 UPDATE

So today i had a very pleasant experience, i was lucky enough to get to meet a very unique crossbreed named Kolby. Kolby is an 8 month old, male, Welsh Collie. When I first approached his kennel he came to my squeaky voice and was quite happy to see a human. I proceeded to make my way inside his kennel to be greeted with a couple of hand kisses and then instantly I was bombarded with hugs and even more kisses. I’ve never met such a welcoming dog. I spent about 5 minutes or so giving him cuddles and squeaky voices saying “ooh what’s this” and he got very happy and excited. He seems extremely devoted towards human affection. As previously mentioned I haven’t met him prior to this and he made me feel as if I’d known him all his life. Because we hit it off straight away and I had already received enough cuddles to last a life time I decided to try and see if I could pop a slip lead on him and get him to take a short walk with me. This didn’t go to plan, he was fine with me popping the lead on him but as soon as any tension was created he got very unsettled…and was quite terrified of the lead. He seems to have some phobias of a lead..so this will need to be worked on here to get him comfortable with this aspect of life, perhaps using a harness could help him find get over these issues. Kolby is a sweet natured dog towards his kennel buddy, he is currently kennelled with a female Bernese X collie who he has a lot of comfort around. Because of this walking issues having another dog around could be very beneficial towards his development in lead/harness walking and other general aspects of home life…however because of how obsessed he is with people I think if they are experienced and have some knowledge towards his breed/ temperament then he could potentially go as an only dog. Using a harness and a long line in a nice garden for the first week or so to get him used to home life and then to start exploring on walks. Given how happy he is towards new people, and how unexpectedly jumps up for a cuddle I feel smaller children wouldn’t be a great match for him. He would need an active home with some experience towards his needs. He is still a puppy and extremely smart, he just needs a home to help show him the way.
