14-01-2025 Kali is a pretty little girl that has come to us from a breeder, she is worried on her surroundings and shakes like a little leaf. Kali is very nervous and likes to stick in the back of her kennel with her kennel friends rather than coming forward for a fuss. Kali will need a very calm environment with no children to help her settle. Kali will need another dog to help her with the nerves and settling in period, another dog will also help her learn house skills as she may have never lived in one before. House skills such as toilet training, lead walking and also getting used to sounds such as the TV and hoover will be needed to help her thrive. Kali is very frightened of us and sometimes makes the wrong decisions out of fear, however there is not a bad bone in her body and eventually she understands you're not trying to hard her. All Kali needs is some time and love and we know she will transform. She has had 3 teeth extracted at the time of her spay.
31-01-25 UPDATE
Kali is a little heartbreaker as she is still so worried here in the kennels and she typically doesn’t leave the back of her kennel unless it’s yard time. I wish I could tell her that everything’s okay now, yet she still will not approach you, instead just look at you while her brain tries to understand what’s going on. Her confidence has grown slightly with yarding, running out to the yard as soon as you open the gate, however when you’re out there with her she doesn’t like any sudden movements and will keep as far away from you as possible. This is a small victory, but it shows that with small steps, kindness and time, she’ll continue to grow. She likes to eat her food in the back of the kennel with her kennel friends and is not yet confident enough to eat out the front but it’s something we’re working on and she will have a couple of mouthfuls before retreating to the back of the kennel. She would really benefit from a nice, calm and loving home with a confident resident dog to aid her transition into a home. Kennel life is just not the environment for a shy lady like this, and with such a gentle soul, it’s hard watching her struggle. I hope to see her in a home soon, she’s such a lovely girl that deserves the world
18-02-2025 UPDATE
Kali has been in foster just a week. She arrived petrified of everyone and everything around her. Gradually the light is beginning to shine in her fearful eyes and she now allows me to approach her slowly and give her a gentle fuss. Kali adores her doggy pals and sleeps all night quietly by the side of my bed with them. Toilet training is going well as she follows my dogs lead. Kali will need a calm home with another kind resident dog to support her in her new home. Could you be the home for her ??
Kali's transport is sponsored by joanne dennis, through their donation for the gift of life. This donation has meant we were able to rescue Kali and bring her to us to find her forever family and to be loved the way she was meant to. Thank you joanne.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
