If you’re interested in volunteering at the rescue, please email volunteer@manytearsrescue.org and let us know what dates you’d like to come. To help us plan, we ask for at least a week’s notice. Please be sure to let us know if you’d like to work with dogs and/or horses and share any relevant experience you have.
Volunteering with the dogs can involve all sorts of tasks - some less glamorous, like cleaning kennels, and others more hands-on, like walking, playing, or simply sitting with nervous dogs and puppies to help build their confidence. What you’ll do on the day will depend on what’s needed and what you’re comfortable with.
We welcome volunteers of all abilities, including those with additional needs and are happy to work with carers or support staff to ensure tasks are suited to each individual’s strengths and comfort level.
A few things to keep in mind before you visit:
- Wear sensible, closed-toe shoes - curious puppies love to nibble!
- Long sleeves and full-length bottoms are recommended to protect from playful paws.
- We’re in a rural location, so please bring your own refreshments.
We are so grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and kindness to help our animals. Whether you’re walking dogs, cleaning kennels, or gently offering a comforting hand to a nervous dog, everything you do makes a difference. Your support helps give these animals the love and care they need while they wait for their forever homes.
Volunteering with us is not just about helping - it’s also a chance to connect with incredible animals, meet like-minded people, and be part of something truly special. We can’t wait to welcome you!
