If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

04-07-23 Finn originally came to us from a home a few years ago and was adopted but sadly due to a change in his adopters circumstances, he has been returned to our care.
He could be homed as an only dog as long as his adopters were around most of the time but does also get along well with other dogs so could live with another dog.
Finn is ball obsessed and loves nothing more than playing with his ball and would really like to find an active family who will take him on lots of adventures and play lots of ball games with him!
Finn has good recall but does have a strong prey drive and thinks most furry things are toys so he would need a home without small furries or cats and adopters would need to keep this in mind when on walks. We believe he is house trained but he might need some reminders of this in his new home.
Finn is a lovely boy but he can be reactive and for this reason will be looking for a home without visiting young children.
He can be very sensitive to unexpected action and doesn't enjoy having his paws touched or being picked up, so his adopters will need to work with him on this.
Finn is a handsome boy who really would like to be back in his forever home as soon as possible so please don't leave him waiting too long.

20-07-23 UPDATE

This handsome man is honestly the most perfect dog here. I have well and truly fallen in love with him. When he came it did take me a bit of time to gain his trust, but now that I have he's a complete different dog, he's obedient, loyal and super caring. He absolutely loves a fuss, anytime I go in his kennel I can't help myself but giving him big hugS and giving him all the fusses he deserves. Honestly Finn here is as close to the perfect dog you will find here, he walks lead perfectly, he's super responsive to his name, super clever knows all types of tricks like sit, down, balancing treats on his nose and many more, and I imagine he's eager to learn even more! He is brilliant with other dogs, absolutely loves to play and he gets on with any dog we kennel him with, I would recommend a female resident dog though. He could also easily go as an only dog, as he's super confident on his own and loves human companionship. As he had already lived in a home we believe he's toilet trained as he doesn't go to the toilet in his kennel. When he came in he was very underweight but as you can see with these new pictures he has put weight on which is brilliant to see, as he absolutely loves his food! If you feel like your the right people to take this handsome man on please do, he deserves the chance to find his forever home and to call a family his own!

08-08-23 UPDATE

Finn has come to us from a home and I’ve been told all about him. So I spent an hour with him today and I’ve fallen in love (as will you) he is a smart boy who knows his commands. I even asked him to grab me a ball and he did and dropped it at my feet so I could throw it which then turned into the game we would play for next period of time! He is absolutely stunning. He enjoys his kennel friends but easily could be an only dog! He is so perfect and we don’t want him in kennels much longer! He deserves the world

13-09-23 UPDATE
Finn is definitely the dog I feel closest too at the rescue, he is everything I look for in the perfect companion, he's loyal, clever, obedient and even loves a good cuddle. I've worked with him loads recently and feel so close with him, he definitely makes my day better. We go on 2-3 good walks a day and he is perfect on lead, he will only walk beside you. I make sure he gets plenty of yard time as he loves being able to run around, and he especially loves playing fetch, anytime me and him enter the yard he will instantly pick up a ball and roll it to me looking to play. He has honestly grown so much in kennels when he initially arrived he was seen as a problem dog, which was worrying considering he came from a home but the last couple of months he has come on so well, I've started to introduce new people when I'm on walks with him and he's a lot more chill about it now. Finn is definitely a type of dog once you have gained his trust you will notice all his perfect qualities he has in a dog. It's time for him now to find his forever home will you give him the opportunity?

04-10-23 UPDATE

What a boy Finn is! I have completely fallen in love with him, he is honestly the most perfect dog you will find here. He's super loyal and clever, very affectionate and loving. Today I fitted him with a harness for the first time and he did extremely well, after that I took him out to a big field on a long line to see how he would do and he did so well I decided to take the long lead off and let him roam free. He absolutely loves playing fetch he could do it for hours effortlessly and everytime I called him over he would come and stand right next to me. He is the type of dog I would definitely feel comfortable walking off lead as he's so clever and gets so attached to you once you've gained his trust. I feel comfortable doing all these things with him now as I've worked with him for a good few months and really feel like I've got a strong bond with Finn. When he got returned he was very skinny not great with new people, wouldn't even let me put a lead on him, fast forward to now he's extremely healthy, enjoys meeting new people with a waggly tail and I feel like he's just enjoying his life at the moment, as many of us here go beyond to make this dogs day better as we've all fallen in love with him, he's such a character to have around the place. You must remember though he won't be like this straight away as you've got to work with him and gain his trust for him to fully express himself but once you have done so he will literally transform your life and make it a better one for sure, This handsome boy has been in kennels for far too long now and deserves to find his forever home and new loving family, will you give him the chance to progress to the next chapter in his life?

02-11-23 UPDATE

I spent the day with Finn for the first time recently, and what a lovely boy he is! I instantly fell for his charm when he introduced himself by dropping a ball at my feet and gazing at me with his big brown playful eyes.. not to mention his adorable bat ears!!
I was quick to learn how he clever he is, as we played fetch during his yard time. It is quite clear how much potential he has to learn all sorts. He can get a little over excited and become protective of his ball, which is easily solved by allowing him to play by himself until he comes dropping the ball at your feet again.
From what I’ve learned about Finn’s background, he didnt have much trust for us humans, however I really wouldn’t of known from our first meet. He approached me with curiosity and allowed me to approach him with ease throughout the day. After reading Finn’s previous updates it’s clear he’s come a very long way with his progress and I believe all he needs now is a fun, active, loving environment and a human to show him he can finally put his guard fully down.
He really would make the very best companion.

05-01-24 UPDATE

I cannot believe this handsome boy is still in kennels waiting for his forever home.
Finn has been here far too long now. His development while being here has been so lovely to see, he is honestly the perfect dog once he gets to know you.
He's obedient, loyal, clever and super athletic. Finn is a dog that loves to keep active, going for long walks, playing in the yard to playing fetch. He is so ball driven he will do anything for you if a ball is in front of him. It's been a pleasure working with Finn and seeing him develop here.
Finn always needs time to trust someone new, but as soon as you get your bond he will be all over you. He is honestly the most perfect dog and so handsome, he's patiently waiting for his new loving family.

If you feel like your the right people to take this handsome man on please do, he deserves the chance to find his forever home and to call a family his own.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Finn, and I've had the privilege of working with him for the past few months. As the previous updates suggest, he is one awesome dog! He's obedient, super intelligent, loving and more .
Since getting to know Finn, I have fallen in love with him, he is such a well behaved boy and absolutely loves playing ball, as you can see from the photos .
His ideal home is with someone who is experienced with dogs and their needs.
The truth is no-one here can understand why he's still here, everything about him is perfect from nose to tail and once you meet him you'll fall in love him just as much as we have here at many tears .

08-02-24 UPDATE

I can't believe I'm still writing updates for this boy. The fact the perfect dog has been in kennels for all this time baffles me. This past week myself and another staff member have been muzzle training him and wow he is doing such an amazing job. We began with a soft muzzle and offered cheese as a reward. He did so well and learnt the command "nose" we moved on to the hard muzzle right away. We've carried on using the command and offering cheese as a reward and he's doing an excellent job. We'll carry on doing training sessions at least 3 times a day to really get him used to the muzzle and trained. Since Finn doesn't like certain parts of his body touched by people he doesn't trust, we believe that by being muzzle trained it will protect him when visiting the vets and bathing etc. But once you get a strong bond with Finn it is honestly such a pleasure to work with him day by day. A few staff members including myself have completely fallen in love with Finn and now that we've got a good bond with him we can do fun activities such as running free playing fetch in a big field, multiple long walks a day and cuddles in his kennel. As Finn has already lived in a home he is already completely housed trained but as he has been in kennels for quite some time now he may need a bit of reminding but I guarantee he will pick it up very quickly. Finn is the most affectionate, loyal, clever, most handsome boy I have ever met and you will be the luckiest people with him as an addition to the family. Please give him the chance to find his forever home and loving family.
