VISITING THE RESCUE

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY

VISITING THE RESCUE
Starting Saturday 24th October Many Tears will no longer be open to the public for general show arounds. However if you have an APPROVED adoption application and want to come and see the dog you are adopting or to come and see the ones available, there will be show arounds 7 days a week. These will happen once a day on weekdays and twice a day at weekends. All visitors to the rescue will need to wear a facemask.

Mon-Fri the show around will start promptly at 12pm and on Sat-Sun at 11am and 1pm.

PLEASE NOTE
There will be a £3 charge (please bring cash as we do not have a card reader) for anyone over the age of 14.

These are the ONLY times the general public can turn up without prior arrangement. If you are adopting or volunteering you will be allowed in at a pre agreed time.

DONATIONS OF FOOD AND BEDDING
Donations of any dog food and towels are always very gratefully received but for bedding we can only accept:
  1. Lightweight/fleece blankets that are quick to dry and that are already cut to fit in dog beds of all sizes.
  2. Duvets (NOT feather) - but only single ones which are cut up into 4 pieces or double/king size cut into 6 pieces and sewn to stop the filling coming out.

PLEASE NOTE WE CANNOT ACCEPT PILLOWS, CUSHIONS OR ANY OTHER BEDDING OTHER THAN THAT MENTIONED ABOVE.

Please leave any donations on the benches outside the entrance any time between 8:30-4:30 and ring the bell to tell us they are there. If you need help to unload items please call us on 01269 843084 so we can help you.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are wonderful BUT sadly we no longer have the staff to look after/train people so regretfully we can no longer allow volunteers to just turn up. Volunteers will be accepted by arrangement only and none under 18 unless they are accompanied by a parent.

There is a list jobs which we are looking for volunteer to do on a regular weekly basis.
These roles will be taught to the successful candidate BUT these will be a commitment and if you constantly do not turn up or let us down another person will be found. The idea is to lessen our work load so we can increase the time we spend with the dogs. We will be looking for……

Dog Walkers - who can give a a minimum of ¾ of an hour per walk
Dog Trainers - to teach lead training and social skills to our dogs.
Dog Groomers - to bath, shave, trim, clean ears etc.
Gardeners - to keep the grounds tidy.
Vet Assistant - scrubbing kits watching dogs recover and doing things needed in the vets
(NB THE VET WORKS DIFFERENT DAYS SO APPLICANTS FOR THIS ROLE NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE)
Vet Cleaner - to deep clean the vets surgery once or twice a week disinfecting etc.
Meeter Greeter - to show the public around make them feel welcome, help them put applications in on our computer, advice etc.
If you are interested in becoming one of our regular volunteers please email Sylvia at swvanatta@gmail.com with which role(s) you are interested in and the days/hours you can do.
