OUR DOORS ARE OPEN!

Following Covid 19 Many Tears reopened itsdoors to visitors and volunteers on 8th August 2020. Sadly things are very different from before due to less staff and funding, in addition to following social distancing regulations.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY TO ENSURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE NEW RULES

VISITING THE RESCUE
Many Tears will be open 7 days a week to the public for show arounds. These will happen once a day on weekdays and twice a day at weekends.

Mon-Fri the show around will start at 12pm and on Sat-Sun at 11am and 1pm.

PLEASE NOTE
There will be a £3 charge (please bring cash as we do not have a card reader) for anyone over the age of 14.

These are the ONLY times the general public can turn up without prior arrangement. If you are adopting or volunteering you will be allowed in at a pre agreed time

BEDDING/FOOD DONATIONS ETC
Donations are always very gratefully recevied. Please leave these on the benches outside the entrance any time between 8:30-4:30 and ring the bell to tell us they are there. If you need help to unload items please call us on 01269 843084 so we can help you unload.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are wonderful BUT sadly we no longer have the staff to look after/train people so regretfully we can no longer allow volunteers to just turn up. Volunteers will be accepted by arrangement only and none under 18 unless they are accompanied by a parent.

There is a list jobs which we are looking for volunteer to do on a regular weekly basis.
These roles will be taught to the successful candidate BUT these will be a commitment and if you constantly do not turn up or let us down another person will be found. The idea is to lessen our work load so we can increase the time we spend with the dogs. We will be looking for……

Dog Walkers - who can give a a minimum of ¾ of an hour per walk
Dog Trainers - to teach lead training and social skills to our dogs.
Dog Groomers - to bath, shave, trim, clean ears etc.
Gardeners - to keep the grounds tidy.
Vet Assistant - scrubbing kits watching dogs recover and doing things needed in the vets
(NB THE VET WORKS DIFFFERENT DAYS SO APPLICANTS FOR THIS ROLE NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE)
Vet Cleaner - to deep clean the vets surgery once or twice a week disinfecting etc.
Meeter Greeter - to show the public around make them feel welcome, help them put applications in on our computer, advice etc.

CHILDREN'S CLUBS
In addition to these volunteer roles we are also looking for someone interested in learning how to run a small club to teach dog mad children to understand how to care for a dog. They will teach them how to groom and train a dog safely. (These will be 4 week courses held for 1½ hours on a Sunday morning for children aged between 8-12.) You would need to be experienced and have a recent, enhanced DBS disclosure for this role.

If you are interested in becoming one of our regular volunteers please email Sylvia at swvanatta@gmail.com with which role(s) you are interested in and the days/hours you can do.
