If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

22-09-2023 Friday has been returned to us as his adopters were struggling with his behavourial issues and feel that a very experienced adult only home, with no visiting children would be best for Friday's wellbeing. Friday does get along with other dogs, but can guard things from them and so for this reason we feel like he would be better suited to being an only dog.
Friday is a lovely confident boy when out and about, he adores other dogs and will just play for hours. Friday meets dogs and people well when out of the house and loves being active and knows quite a few commands.
In the house, Friday struggles with food aggression (not when being trained and given treats as a reward but when he has a bowl/food to himself including in his food being prepared) and resource guarding where he does end up reacting. Friday's adopters were handling this by keeping a lead on Friday in the house and taking hold of it whenever this behaviour occured, which would stop him from reacting but had problems if they were unable to get to the lead in time. There were also a few occasions where there appeared to be no specific trigger to his behaviour or where he seemed to be triggered by his own frustrations, for example when his trailing lead got caught on something. Friday needs experieneced adopters that can help him manage his emotions leading to his reactions to encourage impulse control and lots of "settle"/"place" training to be able to divert him in these situations and enforce "good" choices from him.
Friday will need special very experienced adopters that can help him overcome these challenges and help Friday grow into a well rounded boy. Friday can also react if startled in the house or if woken up so he has been sleeping in a crate which he settles in well with clear boundaries of the house to try and limit resource guarding.
Friday is a very affectionate loving boy who adores going on adventures and has been very loved. In the right adult only home with very experienced adopters Friday will be able to return to home life and become an amazing addition to your family. Friday will need a home with no cats or small furries.

16-10-23 UPDATE

Friday is such a character with us here at Many Tears. He's super affectionate, playful and clever. He knows tricks like sit, down, speak and many more. One of the highlights of my day is taking Friday out on a walk, he's very gentle and will walk alongside you, but he does also love to explore and smell new things with a waggly tail. He has a very confident and funny personality, with the cutest bark in the world. He absolutely loves his time in the yard playing with toys and running round with his kennel friends. Friday could easily be homed as an only dog as he craves human attention, and is more than satisfied with that. Also he is very confident, so he'd settle into a home as an only dog very easily. Friday has lived in a home before so he is completely housed trained, including being crate trained and toilet trained. Friday is an angel in kennels and everyone here absolutely adores him, but he is a dog that needs a very experienced home that's willing to work with him as once he settles in a home, his issues do start to evolve. He is affectionate and loving and in the right adult only home, he will be a great addition.

06-11-23 UPDATE

Friday is a very affectionate boy who loves to sit on your lap and have cuddles and kisses. He enjoys going on walks and taking in all the smells, he is very gentle and doesn’t pull on the lead. Friday is house trained and knows basic commands, he also knows his name and will come running up to you with a waggy tail if you call him. He will need experienced owners in a child free home. I hope the perfect family comes along and snatches him up, because he is a really sweet boy, he will need some help adjusting to home life and working with him to overcome his issues.

15-11-23 UPDATE

Friday is a very special young man Don’t tell any of the other amazing doggos but he’s my fave! Friday mixes well with other dogs as he shares a kennel but he has shown some guarding issues.
Friday's excitement and enthusiasm every time he sees me shows just how much love he has to give and I truly feel in the right environment with the right home Friday would flourish into a fine gentleman.
Friday sat in my car for a little while today and he loved every second!  I popped on his yellow rain mack and as soon he got into the passenger seat he quickly became very comfortable and at peace away from the hustle and bustle.  His eyes started to shut and he fell asleep instantly which shows he just wants to escape into the comfort and love of the outside world. It broke my heart having to walk him back to the rescue. So if you read all of these updates and you feel you can give Friday everything he deserves please complete his application form - Friday is special.

05-01-24 UPDATE
Friday a very special little man whom I met yesterday for the first time. He is such a loving boy with a very waggy tail. He loves to meet people and other dogs. He walks well on a lead and has learned a lot of commands, sit, lay down, speak and many more. Friday is going to become a very loving boy for the person/people who adopt him. He will need an experienced adult only home with no visiting children as he does have some issues in guarding, please read all our updates on this lovely boy before filling out the form.
  02-02-24 UPDATE

Friday is an exceptional doggo that I have written so much about before.  He does come with his own issues, but truly feel in the right home with the right people he could flourish and learn so much soI would advise reading back through the previous updates to get a good understanding of this Friday.  Friday does need an experienced adult only home with no visiting children, with an adopter who is willing to put the time and patience that he needs. Friday is great with other doggos, but has shown some guarding behaviour! He is super affectionate and loves attention, but Friday will need to learn boundaries to help him live his best life. The last thing we want is for Friday to lose his home once again, so if you feel you can give Friday the rather loving home he deserves, do reach out.

26-02-24 UPDATE

Today was the first time I met Friday and he was very well mannered when I first greeted him - he came straight over to me for a fuss and got super excited for some fuss and love. I then took him out for a little walk where he walked nicely on the lead and loved to sniff around in his environment. He’s a super smart boy that loves to keep his mind active so when he does go on walks, he’s nothing but happy and excited to see what’s around! Friday knows how to sit on command and the word wait. He loved to give me kisses and overall, he was just a pleasure to be around. Friday does have his quirks when in a home, but in this kennel environment we don’t see it - he suffers with guarding issues so please read his previous updates for more info surrounding this, though what it does mean is that he needs an adult only home and a special someone that will carry on his training and manage his behaviour in a way that helps him thrive. Friday is a really special boy that really does deserve the best and after just meeting him, I can’t quite believe that he hasn’t been scooped up already

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
